[EN/PT-BR] What is your opinion on automating things?

Some things done automatically may, at first, seem like a very bad thing. Of course, depending on what we are looking to automate, it is great when this is done and in this way it saves us time that will be invested in something else, just as there are cases and cases in which a more manual and mainly human analysis happens, after all, numbers can be wrong and generalizing is always a mistake in my opinion.

These days, at work, I heard some colleagues talking about this, how the world is moving towards automating more and more things, especially those monotonous and repetitive jobs that we have. They seemed to be talking in a way that they thought this was bad, and I even understand that to some extent. But, with the advancement of artificial intelligence and automation of everything, people, the worker, seem to be being left out more and more.

But progress will not stop, unfortunately or not, the process is always to update everything, put it in automatic mode and that way we keep evolving. I like to automate as many things as possible, including here at Hive, whatever is possible to do this and that does not cause problems for anyone (including me), I would be very happy with that. Hive Vote, for example, is wonderful in my opinion, because it helps us save time, which can be invested somewhere else or, most importantly, with our family and friends.

In this case, many say it's bad, you don't see who you're voting for or something like that, that you might unintentionally be helping someone who doesn't deserve it in theory, who doesn't add up here at Hive and I agree with that too. But everything in life has a way, so what I do at the moment is to set a lower percentage value on the path I follow and, over time, when I see people really engaged in growing and evolving here at Hive, I set up an automatic vote on it. Hive Vote prioritizes this, votes for whoever you set up and then follows the path's vote.

So, in this way, the vote is lower for strangers, but for those I trust and see that they want something serious within Hive, I am more than happy to help, because this automated vote of confidence is my way of contributing to them. Therefore, not everything that is automatic is bad, in virtual or real life, saving time with some things is the best thing we do.

In my work as well, I have many things that I created that automate part of my activities. Whenever possible, I do this, I save a lot of time and thus, I can invest in something else. For me, this is a good thing, I don't look at it negatively and, if I need to act on something more important and serious, obviously I do it manually, looking at each query or code line by line. So, what do you prefer? Automatic or not?

Algumas coisas feitas em modo automático podem, em um primeiro momento, parecer algo muito ruim. Claro que, dependendo do que estamos buscando automatizar, é ótimo quando isso é feito e desta forma nos poupa um tempo que será investido em alguma outra coisa, assim como também temos casos e casos em que uma análise mais manual e principalmente humana aconteça, afinal, números podem errar e generalizar é sempre um erro na minha opinião.

Por estes dias, no meu serviço, ouvi alguns colegas de trabalho falando sobre isso, como o mundo está em uma direção de automatizar cada vez mais as coisas, principalmente aqueles trabalhos monótonos e repetitivos que temos. Eles pareciam estar falando de uma forma na qual acharam ruim isso e eu até entendo em parte isso. Mas, com o avanço da inteligência artificial e automatização de tudo, as pessoas, o trabalhador, parece estar sendo deixado cada vez mais de lado.

Só que o progresso não vai parar, infelizmente ou não, o processo é sempre atualizar tudo, colocar no modo automático e dessa forma seguimos evoluindo. Gosto de automatizar o máximo de coisas que for possível, inclusive aqui na Hive, o que for possível para fazer isso e que não dê problema para ninguém (incluindo a mim), ficaria muito feliz com isso. O Hive Vote, por exemplo, é uma maravilha na minha opinião, porque isso justamente nos ajuda a ganhar tempo, que pode ser investido em algum outro lugar ou, o principal, com a nossa família e amigos.

Neste caso, muitos falam ser ruim, você não vê em quem está votando ou algo assim, que sem querer você pode estar ajudando alguém que não merece em teoria, que não soma aqui na Hive e eu também concordo com isso. Mas tudo na vida tem um jeito, então o que faço no momento é colocar um valor de porcentagem mais baixo na trilha que sigo e, com o tempo, ao ver as pessoas realmente engajadas em crescer e evoluir aqui na Hive, faço a configuração de voto automático nela. O Hive Vote dá prioridade para isso, vota em quem você configurou e depois ele segue o voto da trilha.

Assim, dessa maneira, o voto sai mais baixo para os desconhecidos, mas para aqueles em quem confio e vejo que desejam algo sério dentro da Hive, tenho o maior prazer de ajudar, pois assim esse voto de confiança automatizado é a minha forma de contribuir com eles. Portanto, nem tudo que é automático é ruim, no virtual ou no real, ganhar tempo com algumas coisas é a melhor coisa que fazemos.

No meu serviço também, tenho muitas coisas que criei e que automatizam em parte minhas atividades. No que for possível, faço isso, ganho um tempo maravilhoso e assim, consigo investir em alguma outra coisa. Para mim, isso é algo bom, não vejo com maus olhos e, caso seja preciso atuar em algo mais importante e sério, obviamente, faço manual, olhando linha por linha cada consulta ou código. Assim sendo, o que você prefere? Automático ou não?
