Some weeks ago, I watched a particular kind of videos on a streak in one day. And most of the videos were about understanding money to become successful, especially in the way you spend it. The videos almost convinced me that becoming wealthy mean successful but I've always known that success goes beyond that.
Yesterday, I came across another definition of success that did not only resonate with my thoughts on what success should really be about but the definition also made me realize just how simple and easy it is to be successful but the world has made it look so hard to reach because of the definitions they've attributed to success.
I'm not going to beat around the bush with this new definition of success, it's a clear quote of definition so it's going to be quite a short post. The quote is... "Success is liking yourself, liking what you do and liking how you do it". This definition was shared in my digital journal daily zen words and quote is written by Maya Angelou.

"Success is liking yourself".
Picture a moment you have everything else, the money, the fame, the power but you're your worst enemy and you keep saying negative words to yourself and don't appreciate when people actually compliment you for your uniqueness. You see everything that personally concerns who you are as a threat or see them as your guard being broken down even when it's all harmless love just for you.
I believe picturing that would have you understanding why it is a big success when you actually like yourself... Self love is a success thing and it's sad how many never get to love themselves while some still don't know how to.
"Success is liking what you do".
Picture this... In a world filled with countless things to do, one moment you're seeing someone doing great in designing, another moment you're seeing someone do great in public speaking. You want to do great too but you're stuck in which you should go for. Imagine following trend and not finding the joy in what you're actually doing because you followed trend and didn't take lead in what you'd do the best.
There's so much joy and peace in actually liking what you do and it's one thing that many in our world today don't experience because we're made to pursue the wealth and leave what we enjoy for later when we have enough money which may never happen or may never realize.
"Success is liking how you do it".
Imagine doing the same thing every other person in your field does but you do it because you enjoy and like how you do yours. The results may come out the same or better or worse but for the fact that you enjoy the process, you feel happy and willing to go over it again. Make corrections happily or teach your mastery with joy, in anyway, you like how you do your thing and that makes you feel unstoppable.
I'm still kinda stuck in this phase of success but I believe it's only a matter of time to understand a process that gives me joy and I want to do it everyday even when the results aren't so great. Success is simple but it starts from within you.
