Religious Logic Always Funny: Today's Case Study:
I keep telling religious folks that, even though there are many arguments against saying that their religion does not operate within the rules logic, they should simply just say it "my religion does not operate within the rules of logic", and leave it at that.
Because anytime they try to defend even the slightest religious belief or proposition with logic, they always end up making a mess.
Take this as a case study:
For those that don't know, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are the four books of the Bible that give an account of the life of Jesus and they contradict each other a lot. Some people, especially atheists, see these contradictions and criticize them or say that the Bible should not be taken seriously if it can not even keep it's story straight.
And of course, that's a good conclusion, or what have you to say? But believers keep coming up with excuses for why a book with obvious contradictions should still be taken seriously. They always keep making a mess, though.
And the poster in the screenshot above thought he has come up with the best excuse ever by comparing it to the accounts of the Titanic sinking 😂😂.
Every right thinking person sees the hole in his logic and the mess he's just made, right?
Well, here it is: the four books/gospels are supposed to have been inspired by God! It can't be having the flaws other ordinary human stories have. More is at stake and more is expected when one is to accept that your story was inspired by a perfect God. You can't have contradictions because then how do you expect anyone with the slightest critical thinking ability to accept what you're saying?
The mistakes that come from humans narrating something they saw is not supposed to be found when the narration is backed by an Almighty God who is trying to write a book that is supposed to be Holy and have the highest authority on matters concerning him. It's as simple as that.
To make matters worse, the God also has the ability to see the future, so he already saw that this contradictions would make people not accept the stories in future but he couldn't give two fucks 🤣🤣.
And in addition this is a God who really wants people to believe in him, he is said to desire to be believed in as a priority, because belief in him is to save humanity. And he really wants to save humanity, that he would do anything to save humanity, even get tortured and be killed. But simply keeping a story straight is too much hassle for him 🤣🤣.
