The journey of my crochet butterfly top

Hello everyone you're all welcome to my blog. Here i want you to join me in the journey of how i made this beautiful crochet butterfly top.

Materials used: 2 balls of yarn, 3.5mm hook, scissors, stopwatch and measuring tape.

Production time: 12hours.

Below are the step by step process:

NOTE: There are words you will be coming across more often in this process which are: double crochet, slip stitch and chains.

STEP 1: I made use of a double strand of yarn because its a light weight yarn. And i want a bold project.
So i made a slip knot.

Then i chain up a total of four chains which count as a double crochet chain one.

STEP 2:Then i went into the very first chain with a total of 3 double crochet.

STEP 3: I started another roll then i chain 3 at the top of the first roll.

• Then i turn my work over and i went into my second stitch and place a double crochet, and another double crochet in the third stitch, and another in the last stitch.
  

STEP 4: I repeated the same process in step 3. I chained up 3 at the top of roll 2, turn my work over and i place double crochet in the second, third and last stitch.

STEP 5: For the fourth row i made some increase. So i chained up 3 at the top of row 3, turn my work over and insert my hook into the first stitch instead of the second stitch during the other rolls. So i went into the first stitch in this row and place a one double crochet. And another in the rest and into the very last stitch i placed two double crochet.

STEP 6: For row 5 i repeated exact same process in row 4.

STEP 7: In row 6 i did not chain 3 as usual. So i turn my work over, then i skip the first stitch and i made a slip stitch on the second stitch. Then i chain 3, which count as a double crochet.
I made a double crochet in the next 4 stitches and eliminate the remaining 2.

STEP 8: For row 7 i chained up 3, turn my work over, then i made a double crochet in the second stitch and all the way across for a total of 5 double crochet.

Then i made a very long chain of 100. Which stand as the strap that will be going to the back of the neck. After making a chain of 100, i cut off my yarn and pull through.

i made a slip knot and made the same amount of chain i did for the other side. Then i attach it to the other side that doesn't have the chain with a slip stitch.

STEP 9: I slip stitch into the second stitch on row 7 and chained up 5.

Then i made a slip stitch on the second chain on the hook and i continue to slip stitch through the 5 chains.

STEP 10: I slip stitch in the next 2 stitch on row 7. Then i chained up 5 and slip stitch on the second chain on the hook. and i continue to slip stitch through the 5 chain. I slip stitch on the last row of row 7 then i chain 1 and cut off my yarn.

So does little protruding points are going to act as the antenna for the butterfly.

SO THIS IS HOW THE MIDDLE SECTION IS LOOKING

STEP 11: I started working on the wing, so i made a slip knot with my yarn and attach it on the highest point of row 5.

STEP 12: Then i chained up 5 which count as a double crochet chain 2. Then i add 1 double crochet in the same exact spot.

STEP 13: I chained up 5 again then i went into the space between row 5 and 4 with a double crochet. then i chained up 2 and add i double crochet on the same spot.

STEP 14: I chained up 3 and went through the space between the third and fourth row with 1 double crochet, then i chained up 2 and add 1 more double crochet on the same spot.

STEP 15: I chained up 3. Turn my work over , and i place 3 double crochet in the very first chain 2 space.

STEP 16: I chained 1 and place 3 double crochet in the next chain 3 space.

STEP 17: I chained 1 and i place 3 double crochet in the next chain 2 space.

STEP 18: I chained 1 and in the chain phase space i place a total of five double crochet.

STEP 19: And on the last space I chained 1 and place a total of 4 double crochet.

STEP 20: So in this step, this is the row 3 of the wing. So i turn my work over and i slip stitch in the second stitch, and the third then i chained up 3 which count as a stitch and i place one more double crochet in the same stitch and i add 2 double crochet in the next stitch.

STEP 21: I chained 2 , i skip the chain 1 space and place 2 double crochet in each of the next five stitches by doing so i turned 5 into 10.

STEP 22: I chained 2 and skip the next chain 1 space. and then i go into the middle stitch of the 3 double crochet.so i skipped the first and last Stitch and go into the middle section and i place a total of 3 double crochet.

STEP 23: I chained 2 and skip the chain 1 space and in the next 3 double crochet,I placed 2 double crochet in each of them to turn 3 stitches into 6 stitches.

**STEP 24: ** I chained 2 and skipped over the chain 1 space and then i go into the next stitch with 2 double crochet, and into the next stitch with 2 double crochet making 4 double crochet. So i eliminate the last 2 stitches.

I FOLLOWED THE SAME PROCESS IN ROW 3 to ROW 6

In row 6 i will be splitting the upper wing and the lower wing so i started with the upper wing first.

STEP 25: So for the upper wing i turned my work over and slip stitch in the second and third stitch. Then i chained up 3 and place a double crochet in the next stitch and 2 double crochet in the last stitch..

• I chained 2 and i continue to increase in the first stitch and the last. Which is 2 double crochet in the first stitch and 1 double crochet in all the middle stitch and 2 double crochet in the last stitch...

• At this point since i was splitting the wings, i made some changes so i chained 2, then i go into the very first stitch instead of the middle stitch as before and i place a total of 3 double crochet and thats the end of row 7 pf the upper wing.

• I turn my work and slip stitch in the second stitch then i chained up 3. And i place double crochet in the same stitch and 2 double crochet in the next stitch.

• I chained 2 and repeat the same process...
  2 double crochet in the first stitch, 1 double crochet in all the middle stitches and 2 double crochet on the last stitch.

• Then i chain 2 and go into the first stitch with 2 double crochet and the second stitch with 2 double crochet.

• So i repeated the same process in row 9 of the upper wing to row 12 back and forth
  

STEP 26: So after row 12 i did something different. I turn my work over, slip stitch in the second, third and fourth stitch, then i slip stitch on the chain 2 space once, and i slip stitch in the next two stitches.

• I chained up 3, then i go into the next stitch with 1 double crochet and 1 double crochet in the middle stitches up to the second last stitch then i place 2 double crochet on the last stitch.
  

• I chained up and skipp the chain 2 space, then i place 2 double crochet in each of the next 2 stitches and thats the end of row 13.
  

• So for row 14 i turn my work over just the same process i slip stitch in the second and third stitch, then i chained up 3 and place one double crochet in the same space. I place 2 double crochet in the next stitch. Then i chain up 2, skip the chain 2 space and place 2 double crochet in the first stitch and 1 double crochet in the middle stitches until i have 5 left, then i turn my work over for row 15.
  
  AND I CONTINUE THE SAME PROCESS UNTIL I HAVE 19 ROWS

STEP 27: So for row 20. I chained up 3, turn my work over and place i double crochet in each of the next 3 stitches.

• For row 21 i turn my work over to the opposite side and slip stitch into the second, third and fourth stitches and then i made a chain of 250 all together then i cut off my yarn and full through.
  

STEP 28: So now i will be working on the lower wing. I made a slip knot and attach my yarn to the 3 double crochet on the row 7 of the upper wing that is attached to where i will be starting the lower wing.

• I chained up 3 which count as a double crochet and i place 2 more double crochet in the same stitch for a total of 3 double crochet. Then i chained up 2 and i place 1 double crochet in each of the 13 stitches on the lower wing.

• To round it up i chained up 2 and as usual i place 2 double crochet in the first 2 stitches, then i turn my work over for row 8.

• I slip stitch on the second and third stitches, then i chained up 3 and 1 double crochet in the same stitch and 2 double crochet in the next 2 stitches. I chained 2 and skip the chain 2 space below, and also skip the next stitch and then i go into the next stitch with one double crochet and 1 double crochet all the way until the second last stitch. Then i eliminate the last stitch.
  And as usual in the end of that row i chained up 2 and place 2 double crochet in the first 2 stitches.
  

I REPEATED THE SAME PROCESS IN ROW 8 UNTIL I HAVE JUST 1 STITCH LEFT IN THE MIDDLE. WHICH I GOT BY ELIMINATING THE FIRST AND LAST STITCH.

LAST ROW: And for the last rown i turn my work over, then i slip stitch in the second, third and fourth stitch, then i chained up 3 and i place i double crochet in the same space. Then i chain 2 and skip the chain 1 space and i place 2 double crochet in the next stitch.

AND THAT'S THE END OF THE RIGHT WING
So for the left wing i repeat the same process from Step 11 to the last row.

AND THIS IS MY RESULT.
