As an African, living in a largely tropical country, Nigeria. We have two different seasons, the wet (rain)and dry seasons.
Currently, we are in our wet (rain) season. As a girl who loves agriculture, I can't deny the fact that the wet season is favourable to the soil and that's the favourite thing about this season to me, it keeps the crops fresh and green. The wet season is that season that farmers often welcome happily, as it supports crops and enables the rapid growth of crops.
Another of my favourite things about the wet season, is that it makes the air cooler, it creates that calm environment that's cools to the body and minimizes heat. This is why I appreciate rain fall at night and on days I stay at home.

I can't take away the fact that during the rainy season it's usually scary to step outside or even travel far, because of how unpredictable it could be with rainfall, especially outside your home, without an umbrella or any other kind of shelter. It leaves you drenched and soaked if you aren't ready for it. Considering how bad the road in most areas, the only option is to step on dirty water.
The rainy season can be really inconveniencing, makes the road messy, causes flooding and can ruin your entire mood in seconds, even daily activities.
It's usually difficult to travel during the rainy season, it causes a major challenge to travel.
The rainy season even create a suitable environment for mosquitoes to lay eggs, like stagnant water, thereby increasing the rate of mosquito bite and reproduction.

The dry season, just like the wet (rain) season, has its advantages and disadvantages. The last dry season in my country was so bad.
The sun was so hot, and the heat was extremely intense and severe, it caused painful sun burns and rashes on the skin. I had to rethink disliking rainfall, because I prayed for rain to fall during the last dry season.
It caused prolonged heat, heavy sweat and heavy dust that caused catarrh, but outdoor activities went successfully and there was no concern for unpredictable rain fall.
The fact remains that our preferences, when it has to do with weather, often depends on our experiences and circumstances during those seasons. A farmer loves rainy season because of the crops, while the traveller prefers dry season because of the comfort and less stress it gives in their journey.
In conclusion, every season has it own important value to us humans and also has it own challenges, and that's the beauty of nature. Nature changes and is precious to humans. Each of these seasons acts as a reminder that adaptation is part of our characteristics and we can always survive.
We just have to appreciate this weather, and it values to us and also adapt to it challenges.
This is my response to this week LOH prompt:
Summer, dry season, wet season, or fall — what is your favorite thing about the current season in your country and/or the thing you dislike the most about it?
Thanks for reading ♥️
What a profound truth you share in your post, and what a beautiful way to describe your experience with the rainy season. You manage to convey very clearly both the relief of the cool weather and the frustration caused by the challenges on the streets and the delays in our plans. At the end of the day, learning to go with the flow of the weather and look out for our safety is a true act of patience and self-care.
