Ladies of Hive Community Contest #242: Thoughts on Reincarnation
This is my entry for Ladies of Hive Community Contest 242.

QUESTION:
A mystical and powerful being offers you the chance to reincarnate, but you must choose between two options: the first is to keep the memories of your past life but without meeting the same people again. The second option is to forget everything but find the same people around you reincarnated just like you. Which would you choose and why?
ANSWER:
I've always found the idea of reincarnation truly intriguing. It often sparks my curiosity about what my past lives could have been like, and I can't help but wonder... how many lives have I already experienced?
However, in the event that a mystical and powerful being gives me such choices as per the question, I'd choose the latter. Before I explain why, let me tell you the reason I didn't choose the first option.
If I were to retain my memories of my past life or even past lives, there would be a significant logical advantage. I could use the knowledge and experiences I've acquired to make my current life better. Wouldn't it be amazing?
However, not all memories are good. There might be some that I'd want to erase because they were too traumatic. Or perhaps some events may hinder my progress in my current life because I'm too scared to try or do the same thing.
Additionally, I'm not particularly logical, so I may find my current life boring if I've already experienced a lot in my previous lives. There's a possibility that nothing will surprise or excite me anymore.
In addition, the fact that I won't be able to meet the people I've shared various memories with makes it worse. I'll probably continue to long for them and may even compare the people I'm sharing my current life with, which would also be a hindrance to my relationships.
Those reasons led me to pick the second option. I might meet the same people without realizing it, but I'll be able to make new and fresh memories with them.
Not knowing may make us feel anxious, but it also makes life more exciting. That's why, even though there are times when I daydream about my past or future life, I still want to remain unaware. I want to focus on the present and enjoy my current experiences, as well as the relationships I have with the people I share my life with.
Life can be complicated at times, but going through those challenges and overcoming them with the right people makes life worth living.

Yes... although at some point, people can see it at a more positive light, but it would still be difficult and even painful.
Same here, same here, at least we could start our life with them without any memories of the past, or maybe a painful past.
