My Preference For Entertainment : #234

Entertainment is actually a good thing. What is life without some enjoyment? This is one thing we can't sacrifice, especially when we need something to keep us relaxed after the day's work. We want to recharge and feel more in the present moment, than being clouded with daily hustles. So, every individual has one way to keep themselves entertained, whether it's by unwinding through watching movies or escaping into the world of books and simply feeling alive.

Sincerely, I wish I could be a book freak like some other people, as you would always see them with books, either while walking or just sitting in one corner to escape from distraction but to focus only on another world of books. These ones can read even in the air and still feel good. Then we have those who wouldn't get tired of reading over 300 pages in a day.

Seriously, I can't remember the last time I read a book this year, but I can count the number of times I have watched movies. Just last weekend, I had to spend the day watching movies, moving from one to another, and I never felt tired except for when I needed to eat and pause while strolling out to see what was going on.

I used to love reading story books when I was very young. Those times, I would get new storybooks from the garage whenever I was travelling so I could get busy and entertained while on the journey. But now, I only go for some specific books and choose movies even when travelling, so I won't feel bored.

Don't get me wrong, I still love reading books, but not as much as my love for movies. For my entertainment, I tend to think about movies first before the option of reading a book comes to mind. Maybe it's because I find it distracting enough to read on my screen, but when it comes to a movie, no matter the distraction, I wouldn't stop halfway, especially when such a movie is getting interesting. I tend to be more engaged and engrossed when watching than reading.

But there are times when I would be focused when reading, and that's because the book must be a very good one. I mostly read books on personal development and self-help rather than normal stories or romantic ones; I find these ones more boring than novels like The 5am Club, The 5 Love Languages, Psychology of Money, etc., because I want to learn and practice the ones I feel are good to make me develop.

I also learn lessons from movies, too. I love having my notebook and pen, mostly using my notepad to jot down things I come across while watching movies. So, whenever I need to destress and feel entertained, it's easier to fall on movies than on reading books.
