183 LOH: Funniest name I've heard

Sometimes I begin to imagine why some parents would give their child a funny name, some names are so strange to the extent that I wonder what the child's reaction will be to his or her names when he or she grows up, I believe some will eventually change their names because of how weird it is. I'm sorry to say, some names are meaningless and doesn't have any significant at all.

Well talking about the funniest actual name I've heard in my language(Yoruba) is Aja (meaning Dog). There is no other English translation of 'Aja' in my language apart from Dog.

At first I thought the kids that were calling the boy Aja were teasing him, you all know kids and their rough play. I thought they nicknamed him that so I was even telling them with all seriousness to stop calling him Dog again because it might make his mother furious.

To my surprise, they all started laughing and one of them told me that the boy answered that name which he attested to, wow...... I just walked away being dumbfounded after hearing from the horse's mouth and couldn't alter a word.

My brain couldn't process what I heard at that moment, I was like are the parents insane, why would a serious parent named his or her child 'Aja' as in Dog, like an animal, so the parents will be Mummy and Daddy Dog and they will gladly answer to it, that's disgusting to me.

I find it amusing which everyone in the area also does. It was later that I found out that the boy's Mom had experienced lots of stillbirths that's why she was told to name her son like that so as for him to have a long life and that would prevent him from dying like his other siblings.

OMG 😱......why will someone believe such a superstition and go ahead to name his precious son like that, I'm sure if the boy is still alive till now, he would be so mad at his parents and would've probably changed his name because he would not find the name pleasant at all.

Since then I haven't heard such a name again and if at all such name still exists then it must be very few in number. But to say the fact, that name is so weird and the funniest I've ever heard. If it was someone that told me such a name exists I wouldn't have believed, I can't lie!
