FORGING A PART #302

My family is full of interesting people, I grew up with the teachings of my mum, trying hard to be the kind of man she wanted out of me. Along the line though I deviated a bit, not because I do not like the man she wanted me to be, but because I was trying to find myself and a purpose to everything I was doing. I wanted to explore a bit more and discover myself, be my own man while still holding up to the values I grew up with. If I am to be honest with myself, I would say it’s been a rollercoaster hell of a journey.

The only thing I liked about my dad was his work ethics, He is one hell of a hard worker. And to be honest, I do not think I took that trait, I only took his face Lol. My sister however took those work ethics and is really good in business. While I am more of an intellectual guy. This trait alone made me look like the odd one out in the family, quiet and reserved, at a point they thought I was lazy, until they saw how much effort I put into jobs that required me to think. My mind is my asset, I wouldn’t bank on my strength like my parents and siblings.

After understanding my strength, it took time to make them see I wasn’t the lazy ass they thought I was, I would spend a lot of time trying to understand complex things, one time my mum looked at me said she can’t phantom some of the things I knew as a child, not because I am some sort of genius, but because their weakness is one of my greatest strength. This is why I can’t say I am more like anyone in my family because apart from the fact that I am a splitting resemblance of my dad, we share little or no character traits.
