A NEW RESOLUTION (LOH #218)
The year is ending, and I must say it's been a good run. If there's a phrase to describe how my 2024 went, it's “challenging yet rewarding”. I saw myself find strength to take on challenges I never imagined I could, I dared to do things I would have never done in my wildest imagination. I had success in some and failed woefully in some bearing every consequence that followed. So you see it wasn't really an easy year, I would even say it was a tough one, but I'm happy to have gone through everything I went through and I'm happy to be where I am currently still fighting with hope and faith of winning every battle as they come. The New Year is at hand, and with it comes new challenges some of which would be a continuation of previous challenges.
Looking back at my 2024 experiences, if there's anything I wish more, it is to be better equipped to face challenges as they come. With experience I discovered that the things I failed in were the things I wasn't really equipped for. For example one of the major challenges I faced last year was in my line of work. I faced challenging cyber threats that almost knocked me off. At one point I was confused not knowing how to keep going, I even disappointed my company in some cases by failing to bring solutions when necessary, but what can I say, I only acted based on what I knew. That's how much knowledge failed me in 2024 and despite the efforts I took in learning new things, my job was just so demanding that I'm often worn out at the end of the day.
So if there's one change I want to make for the new year it is being able to learn new things while I find ways to create time. I no longer want to do very demanding jobs that would take a big toll on my time. I would like to start doing jobs that give me opportunities to learn more. At the moment I'm still searching for such jobs and at the same time negotiating with my company over my job description and time management so that it would not affect me as it did last year. I know there will be more challenges in the new year, but this time I want to have a better chance of fighting and winning.
