What I Chose to Release as the Year Began—#271

I reflected on this week's prompt by @merit.ahama, which indeed took me on a deep journey this morning:

I definitely paused to ask myself a simple but honest question:

What do I need to release to allow this year to be better than the last? I realized it wasn't dramatic—it was a quiet, heavy habits I had been carrying for too long.

What I Released:
I chose to release self-doubt, the voice that questions my value even when I am trying my best. I chose to release the pressure to have everything figured out, especially at the start of a new season. I release the need to explain myself to everyone and the habit of
comparing my journey to other people's progress, and start making my little effort count. I release the habit of worrying too much over circumstances I have absolutely no control over and just let peace and laughter take control. I chose to release every negative energy that has affected my spiritually and put more effort into drawing especially closer to God in prayer, followed by my lifestyle, utterances, and my dealings with others.

Have I Noticed Small Wins?
Yes, of course, I feel much lighter. I'm less anxious about timeline. I'm learning to take each day as it comes. Even my thoughts feel kinder; my prayer life is smoother, calmer, and happier. I have realized recently that my thoughts have become much more organized and better after my reflection therapy (which I do sometimes). My laughter and joy are more genuine, making my family life happier. Although I don't have all the luxuries of life that often brings anxiety and worries, staying content with the little I earn, maintaining a simple lifestyle, and sharing genuine happiness with my family and friends is a moment of peace I will forever cherish— one of many of God's wonderful promises that have given me peace of mind and kept my worries in their proper place.

And if some days still feel early or uncertain, I simply remind myself that releasing is not a one-time act—it's a daily choice. The fact that I chose peace, clarity, and growth over fears and anxieties is already a win for me.

This year, I'm making space on purpose—and trusting that better things will grow there.

This is my response to the @ladiesofhive community contest—Round #271

I smiled when you said you feel lighter now. It’s really all that matters. I really can’t wait to see all the things you embrace now that you’ve left go of self doubt.

I can relate with that feeling you've let go because I'm still struggling with it. We just need to keep reminding ourselves that it's okay to not have everything figured out yet.
