If I am at a party. I hear someone saying something bad about me my first thought will be "people really have time for this". A party is for having fun listening to music eating food and catching up with friends. If someone is using that time to talk about me that says a lot about them not me.

I’m not really the type to jump into confrontation immediately I enjoy my peace too much for that, So first thing, I would probably just observe the situation, Who is saying it? What exactly are they saying? And most importantly, does it even matter? Because not everything deserves a reaction, some people just talk for the sake of talking, and if you give them attention, you are just feeding that energy.

To me, if someone can comfortably sit somewhere and say negative things about another person, especially in a public setting, it already shows their character, that is not someone I need to prove anything to, in fact, I will just see it as confirmation that I’m not the problem here, because a secure and mature person doesn’t move like that,
Now, if it’s something really serious or disrespectful, I might address it, but calmly, no shouting, no creating a scene, I could just walk up to the person and be like, “I heard what you said, is there a problem?” Sometimes, that alone is enough to make people uncomfortable because they didn’t expect you to actually face them, a lot of people are bold when you are not there, but once you show up, their energy changes, but if it’s just random talk or petty comments, I won’t even stress myselfz I will l just carry on enjoying the party, laugh with my friends, eat my food, mind my business, because why should someone else’s negativity ruin my moment? That’s like giving them power they don’t deserve.

Also, I have come to realize that you can’t control what people say about you, No matter how good you are, someone will still find something to say. So instead of trying to fight every comment, it’s better to build a mindset where those things don’t shake you, Once you reach that point, life becomes a lot easier,at the end of the day, if someone is saying bad things about me, that’s their own cup of tea, it doesn’t define me, If anything, it reflects who they are. And I’d rather be the person enjoying my night than the one sitting in a corner spreading negativity.

So yeah, I will hoose my peace of mind over any unnecessary drama any day.
