A Law For Accountability. LOH#280

Hello Ladies..

1️⃣ If you had the power to create a single law in your country right now, what would it be?

So this topic is one that will make you think deeply because there are alot of things going on lately in our country that one might want to fix, you can even get confused when you even think for too long, so if I do have to change one thing in my country right now it would be accountability especially for people in the leadership position, okay let's explain like this: one things that we see every now and then is how people in power make decisions,and when things don't go well, there are no consequences , they don't give proper explanation for stuff, and nothing , and just like that they move on like what they did , did not affect millions of people and that's like a big issue for me.
So if I have the power, I will create a law that makes this leaders accountable for their actions while they are in office, a d I don't mean on paper, but also that it is actually enforced,like a law that makes you responsible for your actions, a law that stands that if you are in service to people, you must be ready to answer for every major decision that you make in office, because being a leader doesn't mean that you enjoy privileges that comes with the position alone , I mean you have to be responsible and I believe that when leaders know that they will be accountable for their actions, they will be more careful in their doings, they will think twice before being reckless or do anything silly.

Another reason for this reason is because alit of the problems that we face in Nigeria today is because of lack of accountability , when there are no consequences, this leaders just tend to do whatever they like , but then when there are rules and laws set down this leaders will want to be in their feet, yes I know that this law won't fix everything bad in the country, we cannot lie to ourselves, but then it will be a starting point , it will create a system where people take their position seriously, and public offices are not seen as a place to benefit for their own pocket,this law will give citizens more confidence ,when people see that leaders are being held accountable for their actions, they will learn to trust the system, Of course, creating a law is one thing and enforcing it is another, that is actually where the real work is, because we have seen situations where good policies exist, but they are not followed properly, so for this kind of law to work, it has to be taken seriously, without favoritism or bias,at the end of the day, I just believe that if there is more accountability in leadership, a lot of other things will fall into place, It may not be perfect, but it will definitely be better than what we are used to now.
