I think an average human or hiver should have at least a couple images amd thoughts reading this heading about consistency and talent. In my own opinion i think that most people would rather pray to be talented than to be consistence oriented, based on the kind of world we live in today i wouldn’t blame anyone for not being consistent as we know that the universe has its own ways of interacting with man and a lot of happenings and situations unplanned or unprecedented so I ain’t blaming anyone for not showing up everyday but still got something going on, talent, skill or whatever.

Talent gets noticed quickly as it is already a part of you/us and It shows up early, makes noise and creates impressions almost immediately. In some or many cases we noticed our talent at a very young age, some even while being a toddler so people recognize it fast and attach expectations to it. Talent feels visible and easy to admire because it announces itself, It looks impressive even before it has been tested, and because of that, it often receives encouragement long before it proves endurance.
Consistency does not work the same way, consistency on the other hand is quiet and repetitive. It shows up without drama and often without recognition. Of course there wont be any extra acknowledgment, speculation because it is just a normal occurrence where you have to do the same thing every aingle day or every time. Consistency continues even when nothing new happens and when progress is not obvious because unlike talent consistency is a habit, thats how it starts then it becomes your life style, a part of you like your talent and at the end it becomes you, youd become an epitome or reference/example of consistency. There are long stretches where consistency produces no visible reward and that is exactly why it is harder. It demands patience in places where talent usually receives attention because talent is very beautiful and alluring so definitely talent takes the spot at instant but doesnt win the long run in reality, lets see how.
Most people can be talented for a moment and in almost all cases consistency in practice and patience are what really refines and boost ones talent but very few can remain present long enough for that talent to mature into something dependable. Consistency asks for willingness rather than inspiration because thats what it is literally and It requires returning even when motivation fades and confidence is no where to be found. Consistency always survives boredom, self doubt and the absence of external validation as we dont need anyone or anything to cheer us up while we act. There are no shortcuts that make consistency easier to maintain and there is no audience waiting to applaud it but on #hive ? Yes i think consistency matters here as well as talent and it is noticeable and applauded on here.
We often confuse momentum with progress which is wrong, motivation may not be there the same as it was when starting something and you need to stay strong enough to continue. A strong start feels productive and early excitement feels like commitment but thats just for a while. consistency begins when motivation is no longer reliable or available, when routine replaces novelty and when effort becomes ordinary. For efforts to become ordinary is not a joke it takes a lot of sacrifice and consistency as well.
Systems reward consistency more than talent and i think web3/hive is a very good example. The #hive-engine rewards consistency so much more than skills, as we all know @ecency makes a leaderboard post everyweek organised by @melinda010100 to encourage consistent creators and authors which is one of my best moments on #hive. Skills improve through repetition, not occasional brilliance and what does that mean, consistency is the real skill builder! Just like trust is built through reliability, not potential thats just how these things work, you need to give time and commitment to it. Growth happens because something was done again and again, not because it was done well once. Talent may open doors but consistency is what keeps them open long enough for anything meaningful to develop.
Now we all know how important talent is to humanity and oneself or lifetime, we can see so many world class superstars making things happen with their talents, micheal Jackson was talented but did you notice his consistency ?This is not meant to diminish talent but in my aim It is meant to clarify why showing up matters more than standing out. Consistency is harder because it asks for endurance rather than excitement, patience rather than praises or applause/accolades. It does not feel impressive in the moment it only becomes a strong pillar after a while and thats fine. We just need to find a middle ground between both and fuse them to live a talented blissful life.
