Bringing this horror your way, now I noticed it's been a while since I last talked about a horror movie, but then that doesn't mean I haven't seen any though, recently the kind of horror movie that has been coming my way isn't something I would like to watch, so I skip them all.
Now talking about this particular movie, "Ooh my" I think it was the trailer that attracted me. After seeing the trailer, I said, "I'm not gonna pass by just like that." I'm gonna take that bold step into watching the movie because why not?
So I went straight to my download button and hit it and the movie started downloading. After that, I started my journey into the movie, and with no disappointment, I was truly impressed.
"Bring Her Back" is a horror movie that tells the story of Andy and his partially sighted stepsister, Piper. Whose father died in the restroom.
Piper was sent to live at a foster home with Laura, an eccentric former counselor who fosters a mute boy named "Oliver." Laura had a daughter who was also blind but died accidentally by drowning in the pool.
Andy couldn't leave his sister, Piper, alone with Laura, so he offered to live in the foster home as well till he is eighteen years of age, so he can be given the legal right to take care of his sister.
After a few days of settling at Laura's house, Andy started feeling uneasy; he started noticing some strange things around the house, and especially with Oliver. Laura begins subtly undermining Andy's mental health and suggesting he is unfit to care for his sister.
The following day, Andy tries to bond with Oliver after Laura takes Piper to the local market. Andy presented Oliver with a notepad to enable him to communicate and to present him with a reward. Oliver proceeds to write but starts gnawing on a knife.
Andy started panicking and tried to take Oliver outside to seek help, but Oliver started convulsing and screaming while uttering the words "help me". Laura arrives and takes Oliver to his room as she uses her hand to rub his head and that calmed Oliver down and brought him back to his mute state.
Laura called the police to report that Andy was mentally unstable and was taken to the hospital, while Andy was at the hospital. Laura takes Piper to a padlocked shed where Cathy's corpse, "Cathy is Laura's daughter," is stored inside a freezer, and Laura dresses Piper in Cathy's clothes.
It is revealed that Oliver is possessed by an evil spirit, which Laura summons at an amateur cult resurrection ritual, which she learns from a Russian VHS tape. The movie contained a lot of plot twists, it's an actual horror of an evil spirit when hungry starts eating the human flesh, whether dead or alive.
The movie was an interesting watch. At some point, I found myself turning my head and closing my eyes so I wouldn't see what was about to happen. Then, after a while, I will open my eyes and behold that the scene has passed.
The film gives me everything that I need to understand without leaving anything untouched. I'm going to give my flowers to the cast, they all did amazingly well. And talking about Oliver "that!!" Now that is an incredible delivery of character from him.
There was never a dull moment while watching this movie except for the scene that would scare me to the point of forcing me to close my eyes, and I love the movie. It's actually been a while since I felt that way about a movie though, and I'm glad I felt that way.
I'm gonna rate this movie a 9/10, what an incredible masterpiece. I didn't regret the time spent watching this movie. And I'm gonna recommend it for anyone who wants to watch it. Images are screenshots from my phone.
Thanks for reading 🧡
If you liked Bring Her Back, you will love Talk To Me which was the first movie of these directors. I will always remember Bring Her Back as the movie with 'the knife scene', Talk To Me is similar but it has the 'head banging scene' :-)
The fact that it's horror with young people kind of makes it all extra disturbing.
Now I will be forced to see that "Talk to me" and compare it.
Beautiful
Thank you so much
U are welcome have a wonderful day
