When I first saw an edited clip of this movie, I wasn't sure what to think of it. It seemed rather mysterious and intriguing and when I saw that the main character was David Kaluuya, I decided to give it a shot. He's a good actor and he tends to act in various interesting roles, so I thought to myself why not give this a shot? The power of movie edits can't be overemphasized cause that has made me watch the last two movies I've watched.
Anyways, let's get this review started. Get Out is a 2017 horror comedy. It airs for 1hr 44m and has an IMDB rating of 7.8/10 and has won a handful of awards.
Chris, an African-American man is invited by his white girlfriend to visit her parents. He has fears about how her parents would react to her being with a black man, but he reluctantly agrees. What was supposed to be a short visit is turned into an unexpected weekend getaway. But that is not all, Chris starts to notice that there's something wrong with all the other black people on the property. What could be the cause for this?
When you start the movie, you know you're not getting one of those blockbuster movies where they blow millions of dollars in budgeting, but this movie is proof you don't need all of that to make a good movie. Whether it be acting, or cinematography the movie looks good.
It's one of those thriller movies where they add just the right amount of suspense to make you interested and follow through with the movie, while also trying not to drag it out too much and make it something overly complicated. I've noticed that these types of movies tend to thrive when they can find that balance and this movie executed that very well.
There are a couple of straight-up weird concepts in the film but I think that is to be expected in almost any thriller movie.
The movie is simple, intriguing, and suspenseful, and it's a thriller movie so of course you should expect to see a little blood here and there. There's also the theme of racism. Racism was a major theme in this thriller and I feel like they portrayed that relatively well as well.
Despite all of the good things about the film, I still have a little complaint, and that was at the end (Don't worry, no spoilers). I just feel like the main character had it a little too easy at the end. But then I guess it's understandable cause they didn't want to extend it too much. Even at that, it could have been just a bit more challenging.
I will give this movie a 7.5/10. It is interesting and a good pass time, but its not one of those movies you remember for a long while. Would recommend to anyone looking for a short thriller to pass the time.

I loved it, in a bad sort of way. I felt traumatized and all, because why did they make that poor man go through all of that. The fact that the girlfriend was in on it all killed me. Lovely film choice, dear. Thanks for sharing.πΊπ«ΆπΎ
Lol, it was a shocker tbh π.
I saw an edit of this movie some time last week too, and thought to check it out. Unlike you though, I wasn't as drawn to it, so I almost even forgot about it. Until seeing this, of course. Sounds like something I might be interested in. I will check this movie out. I will check this movie out. Okay.
You should, it is interesting.
This is one of those suspense and gore movies that don't seem to be what they seem until you see it in its entirety. The ending is somewhat closed and at the same time strong and profound since it is practically the beginning and the end of the evil. The themes of racism and the development of the main character are one of those things that you won't easily forget.
Good review.
Thank you, this is a great summary
This is my first time of hearing of this thriller drama and the plot seems interesting, I'd be trying it out. Thank you for sharing.
You should. Would be interested in knowing what you think about it
