Warm greetings to everyone, especially to all movie lovers!! 🙂
I came across this beautiful movie while I was searching for some TV series or movies to watch on Netflix. Seeing the main cast, whom I both adore in terms of acting, and the title of the movie itself, excited me and made me interested.
It is because I love to watch feel-good romance, musical and dance-related movies. So instantly, I stopped browsing for more on Netflix and just started watching this movie, "Shall We Dance?"
This is a 2004 American romantic comedy drama film directed by Peter Chelsom and starred by Richard Gere, Jennifer Lopez and Susan Sarandon. It is a remake of the 1996 Japanese film with the same name. – Wiki
This follows the story of a Chicago lawyer, John Clark (Richard Gere), who is feeling unfulfilled in his marriage. He secretly took ballroom dancing lessons and became attracted to his dance instructor, Paulina (Jennifer Lopez).
This is a kind of movie that fills your heart with mixed emotions but leaves you with a sense of warmth and contentment. What I love the most in this movie is that it emphasizes the importance of pursuing one's passions even if they seem unconventional, like taking a dance class, which can lead to profound personal transformation and rekindle a sense of excitement in everyday life.
It's really a wonderful and emotional film. All the casts are amazingly great, the soundtracks were all enjoyable too. I can't forget the " trio dance buddy students": John Clark (Richard Gere), Chic (Bobby Cannavale) and Vern (Omar Miller). Their individual stories and struggles as they learn to dance together were truly amazing.
However, the scene that still pops up into my mind and my favorite scene with a beautiful line or dialogue is when Richard Gere comes up the escalator, with a rose in his hand, wearing a tux so handsomely and greeting his wife and with heartwarming lines: His wife says, "Why aren't you at the party?" and he replies, "Because the party is a dance, and to dance you need a partner and my partner is right here." Isn't it so sweet and touching? ❤🥲🌹💖
So if you're looking for a feel-good romantic comedy with beautiful dancing and touching story about stepping outside of your comfort zone, I highly recommend you watch this film: "Shall We Dance?" It's a must-see and is really worth your time.
I'll end my post here, until next time and thank you so much for stopping by.🙂
God bless!! 🙏❣
