Nonnas (Say Hello to these Cute Grandmas)

Hello everyone!!
How are you all today..? I hope all is great!! ๐Ÿ˜Š

I am back again for another movie review. I watched this beautiful film with my daughter @tegoshei last weekend during Mother's Day. We watched two movies together that fit the occasion. They are called "Nonnas" and "Exterritorial".

The one I'm going to share my own opinion on is the movie, Nonnas, since I'm already a โ€œnonnaโ€, too. Nonna is an Italian word for grandmother. My daughterโ€™s friendsโ€™ and cousinsโ€™ children call me Lola (Filipino term for Nonna).

Let me tell you about the story and what I think about it.

This film follows the story of Joe, a grieving man (portrayed by Vince Vaughn). Joe wanted to find the recipe for healing when his beloved mother passed away. He bought an Italian restaurant and named it "Enoteca Maria". As for the chefs, he hired four sassy seniors. They are Roberta, his mother's best friend (Lorraine Braco), Antonella (Brenda Baccaro), Teresa (Talia Shire) and Gia, as the pastry chef (Susan Sarandon).

The story is a recap of a mother and son's love for food, which expresses a culture that values family, friends and traditional food, that speaks to your soul.

I really enjoyed the four nonnas, it was quite a chaotic first meeting. The kind of chaos that makes you laugh, though. There are some funny fights especially between the two nonnas, but luckily, there's this one nonna who can make them calm down.

And they are all stunning and beautiful nonnas. I really love them!!

Watching them cook, it felt like you are stepping into a beautifully warm family kitchen and not a mere restaurant. I like that they brought the meaning of family and the importance of helping each other as a community. This film also shows the true meaning of friendship that would not sacrifice their relationship for material things.

And I am really glad that this film is based on a true story, and I love seeing the real people at the end, who this movie was based on.

It's so heartwarming watching real people work together, helping one simple man's dream come true.
This movie is truly a gem, and the real gem of this story is the chemistry of these characters and the hearts that they put into it. It is really a beautiful story and a must-watch, so I would gladly recommend this to you.

You will really love the foods they prepared, especially the pasta. I will not describe it here, so you'll get excited to watch it.

I'll just end my post here and see you on my next blog.
Thank you so much for stopping by and God bless...๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ™
