Der Eintritt in den Park Güell (Gaudi) in Barcelona war über hundert Jahre kostenlos, ab 2020 hat die Stadt eine Gebühr für den Besuch des Parks eingeführt, die jetzt 18 Euro kostet.
Aber das Problem ist, was die letzten Jahre leider zunehmend ein Trend bei vielen Museen geworden ist, man kann die Tickets nur noch online kaufen und muss meistens auch noch einen Timeslot reservieren. Vor Ort werden zum Ärger vieler Touristen keine Tickets mehr verkauft.
Vor dem Eingang in den Park gibt es keinen Ticketschalter, nur einen Infostand, der den Touristen erklärt, dass sie die Tickets jetzt online kaufen müssen. Dazu werden mehrere Mitarbeiter eingestellt, die den ganzen Tag nichts anderes tun, anstatt Tickets zu verkaufen, den Touristen zu informieren, dass sie jetzt ein Ticket online kaufen müssen.
Die Touristen, die kein Ticket haben, versuchen dann in der Hitze ein Ticket auf ihrem Smartphone zu kaufen, und kommen dann drauf, dass es gar keine Timeslots mehr gibt, falls sie es durch die Website schaffen, was für Menschen die nicht firm in der Benutzung eines Online-Shops auf einem Smartphone sind, mitunter schwierig sein kann.
Hier aber die gute Nachricht, die Timeslots haben an dem Tag nicht gegolten, man konnte mit einem Ticket den Park auch so besuchen. Die schlechte Nachricht, die Website hat nicht funktioniert, sondern hat beim Checkout-Prozess immer einen Timeout gemeldet. Auch bei anderen.
Habe nach langem hin und her, einen Workaround gefunden, wie ich den Park trotzdem besichtigen konnte, musste mich einer Tour anschließen und eine Reisegruppe darum bitten ein Ticket (diesmal auf einer anderen funktionierenden Website für die Guided Tour) für mich mitzukaufen, was sie netterweise getan haben. Wollte mich mit der Website nicht mehr herumärgern. Abenteuerlich.
Was sagt ihr zum Trend, dass immer mehr Museen und sogar Parks nur noch Tickets online mit Reservierung verkaufen und man vor Ort keine Tickets mehr bekommt?

I had to join a guided tour and ask another group to buy a ticket for me (this time on a different website for the guided tour that was worked), which they kindly did. I didn't want to bother with crappy websites anymore. What an adventure.

You are right, It’s really frustrating how places like Park Güell have gone from being free to charging such a high fee, and now you can only buy tickets online. If the system doesn’t work well, it just ruins the whole experience. This trend of online-only reservations might make sense for management, but for tourists, it often just means more stress and less enjoyment.
18 Euro für die Besichtigung eines Parks klingt nicht günstig. Und warum nicht einer der Mitarbeiter für einen Tickets buchen kann, erschließt sich mir auch nicht wirklich. 🤔
So wie du es schilderst, behindert es den Zugang eher als dass es die Dinge einfacher macht. 😕
18€ is a theft, and only online that's so lame, I would skip it

It’s great for crowd control but can be so frustrating when the website crashes or you can’t buy tickets last minute. There should definitely be an easier way for people who aren’t super into tech or don’t plan ahead.

STOPIt sounds like bad service. I have a feeling that those staff should also help people buy tickets or reserve a time. It feels like a waste of staff, and I guess the tour guides are a good alternative to still get in.
