My "Made in Germany" dish washer lasted almost 40 years
Mein fast 40 Jahre alter Bosch-Geschirrspüler, der wahrscheinlich Ende der 1980-er oder Anfang der 1990-er Jahre produziert wurde, hat leider jetzt den Geist aufgegeben. Das Programm bleibt immer wieder stecken, und jetzt zieht der Geschirrspüler auch kein Wasser mehr, vielleicht ist es auch ein Problem mit dem Aqua Stop-Mechanismus.
Unglaublich, dass das Gerät so lange gehalten hat, ist ein Bosch-Geschirrspüler, der noch einen "Made in Germany" Sticker hatte und die deutsche Industrie noch intakt war und international für dessen Qualität sehr anerkannt war.
Was sagt ihr dazu? Denkt ihr, dass Geräte früher länger gehalten haben als heutzutage? Was ist euer ältestes Gerät, das immer noch funktioniert?

My Bosch dishwasher, which is almost 40 years old and was probably manufactured in the late 1980s or early 1990s, has unfortunately given out. The cycle keeps getting stuck, and now the dishwasher isn’t drawing any water either—maybe there’s a problem with the Aqua Stop mechanism.
It’s unbelievable that the appliance lasted this long—it’s a Bosch dishwasher that still had a “Made in Germany” sticker, back when German industry was still thriving and internationally renowned for its German quality.
Do you think devices used to last longer than they do today? What's your oldest device that still works?
Also unsere Spülmaschine ist vielleicht 3-4 Jahre alt und die Maschine davor hatte maximal 6 Jahre auf dem Buckel. Das älteste Gerät bei uns ist glaube ich unser Handrührgerät, das hatte meine Mutter schon ewig.

I think devices definitely used to last longer. I can't remember what still works, but there are a few things around that are still working even 10 years later. I find that most of the things that I have bought in the past 10 years have failed more or less around the warranty period.

Things used to be made to last; the customer demanded it. I remember some Russian refrigerators that were practically indestructible; they never broke down, and if they needed repairs, you could do them yourself. There were also unbreakable glass tumblers. They'd throw them from a fifth-floor window to prove it.

2010 habe ich nach dem Tod meiner Mutter ihre Wohnung in Wien geerbt. Keine Ahnung wie alt alles ist, Herd, Liebherr Eiskasten, Waschmachine, Vorwerk Staubsauger Tiger 251 (ich glaube Baujahr 2006),
aber ich denke alles andere wahrscheinlich ebenso alt wie dein Geschirrspüler. Als ich noch von Kanada aus in den 90ern auf Besuch kam war alles schon so mit der Küche. Der Eiskasten funktioniert letztlich nicht mehr so richtig, denke ich werde ihn im kommenden Winter entsorgen und einen neuen kaufen. Kühlfächer sind zu kalt (egal wie eingestellt, die gehen auf maximum -32°C, währen der Eiskasten zu warm ist +15C). Waschmaschine (im Badezimmer) funktioniert noch gut, Herd sollte gereinigt werden (meine Schuld, bin zu faul), funktioniert auch noch. Staubsauger (Bild oben) ebenfalls - Beutel dafür bekommt man immer noch vom Vorwerk.
Nicht nur Deutsche Qualität - alles war früher viel besser. In den frühen Siebziger Jahren in Kanada habe ich billig einen gebrauchten Gasherd von jemandem gekauft der in ein neues Haus eingezogen ist - kein Platz für das Monstrum (bei mir allerdings schon) - hatte 4 Kochflächen sowie daneben einen doppel Grill, und zwei Öfen: ein Backofen und ein Ofen mit elektrischer Rotisserie: man konnte drei Hendln gleichzeitig grillen! Der war, als ich ihn bekam, bereits Jahrzehnte alt. Leider konnte ich den auch nicht mitnehmen als ich später ein Haus kaufte, selbes Problem: kein Platz in der Einbauküche (und nicht Gas, nur Elektro Anschluss). Hab ihn einfach zurückgelassen. Ja, wegen Gas im 'neuen Haus' in Kanada: eine Gas Zentralheizung hatte von 1978 bis gerade Heuer gut funktioniert, wurde aber bei der letzten Prüfung beanstandet. Statt zu reparieren habe ich mich entschlossen einen neuen zu kaufen, wurde soeben diese Woche installiert, und laut Berichten meiner Familie funktioniert einwandfrei. Sollte effizienter sein wie der alte. Hat mich immerhin CA$ 4.600,- gekostet (ich besitze das Haus noch immer, '4 Level Split' 4 Schlafzimmer).
Bei den alten Staubsaugern ist auch der Vorteil, dass diese noch eine stärkere maximale Saugleistung haben, in der EU wurde die maximale Leistung von Staubsaugern gedrosselt / reguliert.

Ich habe nichts annähernd so altes.
Meine Eltern haben noch ein Schalplatten/Radioschrank ~1950er glaube ich, einen orangenen Föhn 1970er vielleicht noch das eine oder andere.
Ja definitiv gehen Sachen in der Regel heute früher Kaputt.
Und bei sowas wie Kühlschrank,Waschmaschine,Geschirrspüler ist daie Frage hätte man sich nicht schon 2 neue Leisten können wegen der deutlich besseren Effizienz der neuen!?
Dafür ist der Nachteil, dass die neuen Geschirrspüler länger laufen, teilweise 1-2 Stunden länger. Mein alter Geschirrspüler konnte unter einer Stunde eine volle Ladung bearbeiten und trocknen.
Das hängt vom Geshirrspühler und Modus ab. K.a. was bein uns der kürzeste ist, nutze nur 2 Varianten, aktuell nur eine, die Heißer und schneller ist. Aber Tagsüber wenn ich Solar habe, damit es nicht gabz so hoher Verbrauch ist.
Auf der Arbeit, der hat sogar einen 30 min. Gang, darf dann sicherlich nicht stark verschnutzt sein.
Aber braucht man das? Also ich habe nie so viel Geschirr, das es umbedingt so schnell gehen muss. Wenn eine Große Feier stattfindet, dann wird der Geschirrspühler vorher laufen gelassen, damit wr leer ist und dann passt alles locker rein. Somit ist es egal auch wenn der Spargang fast 4 std. Geht

I do agree that devices seemed sturdier in the past compared to many modern ones that barely last a few years. As for my oldest working device, I’d say my vintage kitchen appliance still runs fine and reminds me of that same durability. Thanks for sharing this story. Das kann man mit etwas handwerklichem Geschick selbst reparieren. Die Schaltwerke von damals sind fast unzerstörbar! Wenn das Programm mitten im Spülgang stehen bleibt, liegt das oft daran, dass die Maschine auf eine bestimmte Rückmeldung wartet, d.h. der Fehler liegt nicht im Schaltwerk, sondern woanders. (z.B. Wasser wird nicht heiß, Zulauf funktioniert nicht.)
Das passt zusammen mit "Wasser pumpt nicht mehr". Klar kann das Schaltwerk abgenutzt sein, aber ich täte es zumindest mal gut reinigen. (Kontaktspray) Alle Infos gibt es im Internet und K.I. kann beim Suchen / Erklären helfen.
Wenn Du was Neues kaufst, hält das nur noch von 12 bis Mittag, 5 Jahre max. oder so. Das würde ich mir überlegen. Klar, wenn Du einen Techniker holst, ist eine Reparatur nicht mehr wirtschaftlich, aber vielleicht gibt es ja auch einen Reparaturclub oder Du kennst jemanden.

PS: Für angeblich verschlissene Injektoren an meinem Diesel wollte die Werkstatt 4.000 Euro. Grok riet dazu, nur den Kabelbaum auszutauschen, wg. Korrosion. 450 Euro und damit einen Versuch wert. Grok hatte recht.

If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new
But what they are doing is bad Very bad I joined steemit like everyone else thinking it offers freedom but I must say steemit offered much more freedom than Hive does
Everyone already knows I only post my own original content I have no need to steal anything from anyone

Das war noch andere Qualität. Von Verschwörungstheorien a la „die bauen da extra bestimmte Teile ein die schnell kaputt gehen“ halte ich wenig.
