In front of the Serbian Parliament in Belgrade, there are two impressive horse sculptures by Serbian artist Toma Rosandić. One bold interpretation of the sculptures suggests that the rearing horses and riders could represent common citizens being oppressed by the state. What do you think?

It's a weird statue. It just looks weird, but I guess I can see that meaning if people gave me that reason.
It is a curious sculpture without a doubt.
Da müsste man ja klären wer für wen steht, vielleicht umgekehrt, wenn das Pferd den Bürger symbolisiert, das diese den Staat nicht immer einfach gewähren lassen sollte? So wie sich die Studenten ja gegen die Korruption erhoben haben. 🤔
Coole Interpretation, kommt immer auf die Perspektive darauf an.
Die ursprüngliche Planung lief darauf hinaus, vor dem damals umstrittenen Gebäude zwei Löwen zu positionieren. Rosandić gab zu bedenken, dass Pferde wohl weitaus besser zur Kultur passen und lehnte sein Werk an den Text eines Volksliedes, in dem es heißt: Igrali se konji vrani mi sa njima div junaci.
Der ganze Rest ist das Fischen im trüben Wasser.
