Basics und Transaktionen

In der heutigen Session ging es um die Grundlagen: Das Whitepaper von Satoshi und um einfache Transaktionen auf der Blockchain über ein Wallet (Senden/Empfangen). Und es ging um die vielen Facetten von Bitcoin. Konkret sollten wir die 21 Lektionen von Gigi durchgehen und zusammenfassen. Und da sieht man spätestens wie komplex und groß das Thema ist. Gigi unterscheidet dabei drei Richtungen aus denen man Bitcoin verstehen kann: Psychologie, Ökonomie und Technologie. Hab das Ganze selbst als Mindmap umgesetzt:

Wer das Buch noch nicht kennt, das lohnt sich wirklich! Zudem gibt es auf deutsch eine sehr gute Podcast Serie aus der „Bitcoin Bibliothek “, wo das Ganze sehr gut vorgetragen wird.

Takeaway des Tages

Es gab in meinem Raum wo wir in Kleingruppen die Hausarbeiten besprochen haben einen Hinweis, dass „Kryptowährung“ eigentlich der falsche Begriff für das Ganze ist, da Währungen per Definition von Staaten herausgegeben werden und von Zentralbanken verwaltet werden. Darauf meinte der Moderator, dass Smart Contracts so gesehen auch nicht passend wäre, denn weder seien diese Smart noch Kontrakte.
Für mich stellt sich dementsprechend die Frage: Häh?!… Entschuldigung? Ich glaube ich muss mich da noch weiter einarbeiten. 😅

Basics and Transactions

Today's session was about the basics: Satoshi's whitepaper and about simple transactions on the blockchain via a wallet (sending/receiving). And it was about the many facets of Bitcoin. Specifically, we were supposed to go through and summarise the 21 lessons from Gigi. And there, at the latest, you can see how complex and large the topic is. Gigi distinguishes three directions from which one can understand Bitcoin: Psychology, Economics and Technology. I have implemented the whole thing as a mind map myself:

If you don't know the book yet, it's really worth reading! There is also a very good podcast series in German from the "Bitcoin Bibliothek ", where the whole thing is very well presented.

Takeaway of the day

There was a comment in my room where we discussed the homework in small groups that "cryptocurrency" is actually the wrong term for the whole thing, as currencies are by definition issued by states and managed by central banks. In response, the moderator said that smart contracts would not be appropriate either, because they are neither smart nor contracts.
For me, this raised the question: Huh?!...Excuse me? Well, I think I need to familiarise myself further with this. 😅
