Tuesday 6th, January, 2026 at 18:7pm WAT, the sky was still bright as I headed to collect my power bank from the charging shop, a walkable distance from my home. As I reached the main road, I was greeted by the captivating image of this #sunset, its orange hues painting a serene picture in the sky.

I'd always wanted to witness the sunset in its vibrant glory, and also capture it on camera, but haven't been so lucky. I'm usually late for the party. Lol. By then I'd only be left with catching the sunset at its tail end. You know, those fleeting last rays that leave you wishing you'd arrived early. Hehehe.
You can imagine how thrilling it was to have my wish granted today, when I least expected it. And to think that I almost missed the chance of capturing this moment on camera. Damn.
At first, I didn't want to bring my phone along, but then I thought, "what if stumble upon something fascinating on this short walk, how do I capture it?" So I grabbed my phone and off I went.
As I spotted the sunset, I was thankful to the universe for giving me the chance to witness this golden moment. Phone in hand, I began clicking away, taking several snapshots of the sunset, while also soaking myself in its beauty. I didn't want to give anything to chance, lest it fades away before I could capture it.
Here are some photos that turned out nice:
First shot: 18:07: Caught behind the palm tree

Another one: 18:08pm: You can see how the electric line bisected the sunset, splitting it into two striking halves. Nature and infrastructure at play. Lol.

Orange and reddish hues, with the gathering cloud - perfect blend of colors.

18:09pm: Bright and warm.

18:10pm: Almost saying the final goodbye

18:16pm: Pinky hue: One last shot before it went below.

And the funny thing was that passersby were giving me curious looks as I photographed the sunset. I'm sure they were probably wondering what on earth I was doing, snapping away at the sky. Some might have even wondered if I had gone nuts. š. The heck I care. Hehehe.
You know, it's one of those moments where you're so caught up in the beauty of something, you forget the world around you.
I have to confess that this experience transformed my evening into something truly special ā a reminder of the beauty in life's unplanned moments.
Have you experienced such unplanned moment such as this before? I would love to read from you.

I'm not sure I've mentioned it to you before, but you write beautifully, Luchyl. I was reading about your experience and the descriptions with my full attention. That's proof that this is good content.
Now, to the photos. I really like them. They're raw and unedited, and they give me the exact picture of what the sunset realistically looks like over here. I'm also glad you were able to go from having a casual evening to an eventful one. Cheers.
Awnn, now I'm blushing. Thanks for the kind words. !LUV
