Persuasion

The easiest way someone makes you do their bidding without feeling pressured is my definition of persuasion. The Ideas are only sold to you, with a continuous reminder of what you're there to benefit or lose, hoping you'd be enticed by it and then influence you in making the decision yourself. Persuasion is always one-sided, the persuader already has a choice of decision he wants you to make, so he focuses on that, and ensures a picture of it is painted so beautifully until you want it yourself. Let's say a friend wants you to pick a red dress in a boutique, 97% of her words would be that which encourages choosing a red dress. She'd tell you why red is the perfect one to choose, without showing you the other bad side of choosing red.

It's easy to identify persuasion when we see one, and that's because their point of reasoning often favors the decision they want us to make and it becomes a thing of concern to them until it's done. Someone who will get a commission if you buy a certain item from a company through him would paint the company all green even when he knows there are lapses in a certain area- Their interest always comes first. Another way of recognizing persuasion is the sudden show of interest, the energy they put in to ensure you've done what they suggested.

Most times the persuasion comes with a harmless tone, except in rare cases where they use anger as a tool to persuade one into doing their bidding. To respond to someone who tries to persuade you into doing something, it's important to understand what Idea they're trying to sell to you and it's also okay to ask them to give you time to think about it while you do your research, and if you already know about the subject is, feel free to accept or reject it after weighing the consequences and impact.

It's important to learn how to recognize when someone is persuading you and that's because, most decisions taken from persuasion favors mostly the persuader and not taking in account its negative impacts. Differentiating persuasion from suggestions would help us on how to make better decisions that concern our life without external influences.

Nice post!👍

Knowing when we are being persuaded helps us to make reformed decisions without being influenced by people's words.

Very interesting perspective, I always think people are fair but sometimes they're just looking for their own interests.

without showing you the other bad side

That's a really great point. I think everything has a down side, maybe not everything is bad, but there is always something that someone may not like.

the sudden show of interest, the energy they put in to ensure you've done what they suggested

And once they get what they want they ghost you LOL

it's also okay to ask them to give you time to think about it while you do your research

Exactly! That's a key difference between someone that wants to sell you because they know that is the best for you, and someone that only cares about their paycheck. The person who takes your needs into account will give you the space to analyze the offer, without pressuring you to make a decision.
