My Thought on Exotic Pets

Exotic pets are animals that aren't common farm animals like dogs, cats etc. exotic animals generally equals special care and most often requires the care of a professional.

I have never considered keeping one. I am not a lover of pets, be it common farm animals or exotic. I love pets when they're still babies. The innocence in their eyes and how playful they are is what I find fascinating.

For the exotic pets, I can't keep them even if an option was given for me to rear them. There are several reasons why I can't keep them. One is that they require special care. Not everyone can rear them because of the details observed in the kind of food they eat, the temperature that's conducive for their health and not everyone may know how to treat those pets when they're sick. This means extra attention, extra money, and extra work on the side of the shepherd.

Most exotic pets feed on insects, some feed on other animals. Imagine waking up daily to look for insects, or buying insects and meat to feed the pet. The cost, the stress , and the concern on days when one can't get them. Not everyone can have exotic pets, especially people like me who aren't hardcore lovers of pets.

Talking about their diseases, only a specialist veterinarian may be able to identify and treat them properly. Imagine having a chameleon as a pet, giving it care when it's sick can be difficult because one isn't knowledgeable about them.

While some may desire an exotic pets, I don't. I'd rather stick to the common pets that are easy to manage in terms of food, sickness, and the environment favorable to them.
