Here We Go!

Sports fans rejoice! We have reached one of the most exciting weekends of the year. I think it is safe to say you would be hard pressed not to find at least one sporting event to watch this weekend. No matter how big of a sports fan you are.

Not only is it Super Bowl weekend, it's also the opening weekend of the college softball season. If that wasn't enough for you, there is also this little thing happening called the 2026 Winter Olympic games. Maybe you have heard of it...

I was flipping through the channels last night and I noticed that the US Women's Ice Hockey team was playing a game. @mrsbozz said, I didn't think the games started until tomorrow. I told her the opening ceremonies are tomorrow, but they have a lot they have to fit in, so they start a little early. When I shut the TV off they were up 5 to 1 over the Czech Republic team I think. That ended up holding and the US ladies got the win

I have a 27" monitor mounted to the wall on the left side of my desk and right now I have the women's short program figure skating playing via YouTube TV. Isn't technology amazing! I actually set the system up to record every single even possible, but I doubt I will get the chance to go back and watch even half it.

The men's snow board big air competition sounds pretty interesting though...

If basketball is more your speed, I am sure there are some really great NBA and NCAA games on this weekend as well. I'm still pretty bummed that we are not down in North Carolina watching our niece play softball right now. It appears they were not able to get a different game scheduled, so this weekend they will just practice and then they have to wait another week to get into their season.

Which reminds me, I need to get subscribed to ESPN Plus so that my wife and I can hopefully watch her games via streaming. Again, isn't technology amazing?!

My wife and I stopped and picked up our grocery order the other day. As we were unpacking it at home, I noticed that @mrsbozz had bought the stuff for several different appetizers, so even though we won't be having a big extravaganza for the Superbowl, I think it is safe to say I will still be eating fairly well this weekend.

In fact, did you know that Superbowl Sunday is the second biggest food consumption day in the US after Thanksgiving? It is estimated that Americans eat about 1.25 to 1.3 billion wings collectively on Superbowl Sunday.

Pretty crazy right? I thought about picking some up to grill myself this weekend, but I am afraid my local meat market might be out!
