Bien# Hello Hive
Early into June am sure you are surprised that we are still planting groundnut, well we are still in its season and planting is done between the month of May and June in this part of the world.
While we are still planting, it will equally surprise you to know that some states in the part of our country have already harvested their groundnuts and we have fresh groundnuts in sale at the market already.
Planting differs according to timing for different state depending on weather.
Those who are already harvesting their groundnuts have planted them in the Month of March.
So we have rainfall across Nigeria starting from January to December depending on Location.
In order not to be too late for planting since we have a very large groundnut plantation.
We decided to employ some laborers to join my family in the planting.
Here you can see a bag of groundnuts waiting to be planted.
In order to control weed from the rice farm, you can see my dad here re-cultivting and burying every germinating weeds.
Although the farm is a large space as you can see and we couldn't do manual cultivation with hoes we have employed Machines who were paid about N15k to cultivate the space.
But we got busy with other activities and couldn't plant this space ever since that is why some weeds have now germinated in the farm.
My dad has to re do this work to keep away from the groundnuts for at least a month after germination before we can think of weeding the place.
The sky is quite dark with cloud and it looks like it might rains, the rains aren't too far from the earth these days, am not able to get some quality image as a result.
The groundnut is expected to germinate in 7days time and I will be here with an update of its progress..
Peas are very beneficial and useful in our diet that is why we try as much to plant bulk of it.

Thank you so much.
Groundnut is awesome and nutritious so I'm glad to see you planting it. I'd be curious to hear what kind of yield you get per acre when that time comes. You mentioned peas are important and I agree but also curious if you ever plant soy bean.. especially after your last post about tofu 😀
I planted soy bean once but the harvest was poor that's why I stopped...
