Prevention Is Better Than Cure, But Are We Practicing It?

When we talk about preventive healthcare, we must come to the understanding that it's a very important aspect of our well-being. It's so because it's a habit that helps us take care of our health so we can discover hidden health challenges and manage them before they become serious. As we all know, not all health problems surface outside for you to know on time, but when you make it a habit to routinely check up on your health, you'll be able to discover potential threats to your wellness and take actions that help you curb such from going beyond where it was and not getting to a point of complication. Below I'll talk more on this subject matter, so without further ado, let's get to it.

Now that we've understood what preventive healthcare is and why it's important, now I can go about sharing my personal experience with it, I can vividly remember I'm not the type of person who visit the hospital regularly because I hardly fall ill, but during my pre nysc call up, I had to do a mandatory physical fitness test and that was when I discovered something's about my health, things like my blood group, genotypes and even illness I didn't know I had, and that assessment helps me take quick action to manage my health and stop doing some things I usually do before. So when last did I indulge in a routine medical checkup?

The last time I went for a routine medical checkup was some months ago, April of this year to be precise, and it was aimed at getting myself treated of any illness I might have within my body systems and as well check if there's any new developments, after that particularly section, I was actually encouraged to come back for any section of routine checkup by July of this year, however, unfortunately I couldn't go due to some factors beyond my capability, but I'll make sure to do that very soon, because I know health is wealth and indulging in a routine checkup is my way of protecting and safeguarding my wellbeing.

Talking about a preventive health habit that I think people should take seriously, personally I think it should be for everyone to engage in a regular health screening and checkups. And that's because we've a lot of people out there who are walking around and don't feel a thing and think they're perfectly fine, but we've lots of illnesses and diseases out there that someone would contact and not feel any different in their body systems for years, until such diseases gain root and start damaging their body systems and internal organs.

But when you partake in regular health screening, you'll discover such swiftly and do what is required of them by a medical practitioner. Alongside that, people should also pay more attention to healthy eating, personal hygiene, adequate sleep, regular exercise, and many other preventive health habits as preventive measures, like they say, prevention is better than cure. So let's take care of our health, because it's not only when the sickness arrives that we should start doing that; we can start even when nothing is wrong with us.
