Breaking Bad Habits, Building a Better Future

We all have different habits that have shaped who we are today, both good and bad ones, but if I were to pick one positive one that has made the biggest difference in my life, I'd have to go with the habit of consistency. It's worth knowing that when we talk about the most disciplined person, I'm not necessarily one of them, but through the years I've come to learn that showing even when I'm not thrilled by it has gone on to produce better results for me than when I wait or rely on other things, such as motivation and the like.

When we talk about consistency, it has been helpful for me in different aspects of my life, such as in my career as a teacher; consistency has helped me in showing up for my students and playing a role in preparing my students. The same is the case as a writer, or should I call myself a content creator? This habit of consistency has made me understand that every effort and post goes on to add up over time. Even when the results might not be visible immediately, my habits of consistency keep me going and showing up, even when I'm tired, even when I don't feel like it or the results aren't showing up.

Despite my habits of consistency that have been of great help to me, I must say that if there are any habits I want to develop or get better at, then after critical thinking about my various habits, I'll say it's the habit of developing my time management. Just like most people, I often get distracted by things that are probably unimportant or important but being done at the wrong time, and I don't have to rush to achieve things I wouldn't have done with ease had I been able to manage my time effectively. I want to be more intentional with how I spend my time, and that's why it's the habit I'll definitely want to develop and get better at, because doing it will make me become a better person than I'm currently.

On the last question in the prompt that's about the effect replacing a bad habit with a positive one will have, I think it'll change the individual's life and future positivity. Imagine changing someone who possesses the habit of procrastination to the habit of discipline; such a person will be able to get things done pretty well and make their lives better. The same is the case when you replace the habit of unhealthy spending with savings, which will improve such an individual's finances. With time, when you replace bad habits with good ones, I believe the results will surface and begin to impact the person's life and how people perceive it and treat them going forward.

Human futures are usually shaped by the choices we make; the little choice you make today will influence your life one way or another in the near future. And that's why we must make sure we possess good habits that can shape our lives and destiny towards the right direction.
