Just like they used to ring it to our ears that health is wealth, I think people nowadays have turned the narrative around due to the conditions of things, we don't really care much about the health part or should I just say we are slightly neglecting it while chasing the bag because money now matters more. Nowadays we do forget how important our sleep is, we get tagged as a night owl or sleep walker yet we find it funny staying awake all night, I remember reading somewhere that we need 8 hours of sleep daily so we can function well but I thought it was all a joke until I gave it a try.
I started sleeping late which reduced my sleeping hours and indirectly changing my sleeping pattern, it reach a certain point I will have to force myself to sleep at around 1 a.m then one day I overdid it, I had a bet with someone, it all started as a joke but the bet deal was 20k, the first to sleep lose the bet, I had no money to give out so I had to use what I have to win the bet, from 12 a.m., we kept chatting just to pass time, 1 hour, 2 then 3 a.m, she didn't sleep and I had to stay awake, at some point she asked what she need to do to stay awake.
I suggest taking sugary stuff which do help most times but she decided to take milk instead and around 4:30am, she stop replying because she had doze off, I was just laughing and decided to sleep 30mins later. I woke up around 12pm that day with serious migraine and couldn't function at all. Sleep is really important and based on research, to have a good sleeping habit, you can have some daytime nap, stop eating late at night and also stay off screen like an hour before bedtime.
Another health tip we do ignore is the Hydration aspect, we think it isn't important to stay hydrated daily and this time around it isn't about taking soft drinks and all, water is important and it took me a while to understand, I do make fun of people taking water bottle every where they go, drinking water helps increase your daily productivity. Some health coach do give tips like starting your day with water, take fruit like oranges or watermelon, getting yourself a bottle filled with water which you can take along with you, some bottles have this time mark on them as a guide. we do neglect our sleeping hygiene and hydration but somehow they are way important.
