Looking Rich or Living Well?

Social media... Huh, such a big one. I'd tell people that most of the things we see on the media are not real and that all of these people online only want you to see what they want you to see, or do you think they don't know what they want to do before setting their cameras to record? And about this topic of looking wealthy and being actually wealthy, it is so true in the media spaces.

You will see someone posting an expensive lifestyle on the media: new clothes, gold, cars, account balance, the latest phone, a big and beautiful apartment, and a lot more, and it's normal and natural for anyone to think and wonder if they're actually doing enough or if they're the only one suffering and not meeting up, and if one is not even careful enough, one will start feeling pressured to do things; you act like them to feel among it all and all of that.

And like I said earlier, people online only allow you to see what they want you to; no one sees the backend and the behind the scenes. A lot of them are doing what we call a "borrowed pose"; most of them are living a fake life, some are doing the "fake it till you make it," and a host of others are only living comfortably online while suffering offline and in debt.

For me, I would choose to be financially stable and comfortable than to look wealthy. I would rather have money, take care of my family, live my life, take care of myself, and all of that. I would prefer that to living an expensive lifestyle I'm in debt to maintain. Not as if it's bad to show wealth and show your luxurious life online, but it is bad when your life online is different from your reality.

Social media has its way of making us feel behind in life, when in the real sense we might actually be doing very well compared to these people we're comparing ourselves to.
