PATIENCE BRINGS PEACE

I’ve always told everyone that cares to listen that I am a lover of peace and if you can’t give me peace, then you shouldn’t be in my life. Although I am not scared of looking for trouble, I detest the consequences and thus I try to avoid it. I have discovered something about myself that makes me always try to take things slow. A lot of people find it annoying, especially when things are slow, but I do not really care. I like to take things slow because if I try to rush things, I always make costly mistakes. To date I am currently paying the price for not taking things slow, and each time I get to know myself, I see more reasons not to rush.

I think it also has something to do with my surname if I am to be superstitious, because it means “wait for God” and each time I try to hasten things up, they always get bad. This is why I try to be patient as much as I can. When I feel worried and find out that things are getting to me and making me want to make decisions hastily, I try to calm myself down and search for what exactly is bringing that sense of urgency, if I see it is nothing much, I will try to think about the consequence of urgency and by the time I’m done thinking, I discover that I am more in control of the situation and then try to look into the things I can control leaving the things I can’t.

This is what patience is all about. A patient person isn’t the person waiting for things to happen, it’s the person in control of a situation and would never try to change or control anything that is beyond them. When I become impatient, it’s as though I am playing God, and when I try to play God, I discover that I am nothing but human. By the time I let things flow, even though I don’t get what I want, I am never pained at the result because I did not put in the energy of an impatient person.
