NEPA WHY?

When I look back as far as sometime three years ago, this was the title of my very first post published on the hive platform, but it wasn’t published under my name because at that time I knew nothing about hive and was just writing for someone who made about 55 HBD from the post and gave be just 3,500 naira. However, I have decided to give this post that title in a bid to let out my frustration on the Power Holding Company of Nigeria and even though they don’t get to read it, I get to earn for complaining and ranting at least.

It’s funny how in Nigeria we celebrate when we hear that we would have access to 16-18hours electricity a day, or 100 hours of electricity a week. But is that supposed to be so? What really is stopping us from having stable electricity, because I know that even a lot of states have the power to produce their own electricity without needing the federal government. Many will say it isn’t just the government we will blame we also need to blame the citizens. Well will you say that Ghanaian citizens do not sabotage electricity sometimes? If they can have stable electricity why can’t we?

But then again, I will not dispute the fact that our electricity distribution has improved over the years, what I mean by this is that NEPA now brings light better than they did a few years back and have even gone further to split the distribution method. But then again, I do not think it’s worth celebrating because we have been so used to this kinda life that makes the epileptic power supply now look like a favour the government is giving us. In my area you see two bands of light, and my apartment happens to be in the middle and seeing your apartment with no light and your neighbour having light can be very distressing to watch.

The power holding companies in Nigeria are not really helping at all.
