A JOURNEY WORTH IT

I remember how frustrated I was in December 2021, I knew that there was a lot I could do, but then again there was a lot I was missing out from. Starting with the fact that my phone was bad, and I was just managing it just so I could go on day by day. A friend of mine who I had helped during her freshman year asked me casually if I could write, I said I could do anything and even formulate stories out of nothing and that was how my web3 journey started. If I say it was rosey I would be lying because it wasn't. I started writing for her in December and that was because she was too busy to write her blog posts. After writing for her for nearly 2 months she decided to tell me exactly what I was writing for because technically I was just writing and getting paid between 1,500 to 3,000 naira for a post.

I was just enjoying the topics she was giving me and the money too even if it was very little. Although even though I didn't know where or what I was writing for, I knew she was making 10 times what she paid me and when I finally knew where I was writing for all along, I discovered that I wasn't wrong. There were a couple of posts she made over $50 from after getting upvotes from appreciator and other whales but I was paid 3,000 naira for them. After my onboarding in February 2022, and discovering how much I could really make, I wasn't angry at all, but grateful that she thought it wise to teach me how to fish instead of just giving me the fish.

But then again, that's was all before the beginning because when I started writing was when I discovered I wasn't as good of a writer as I thought myself to be. I decided to take 3 months off to learn how to write, after that I started working on my consistency so when you calculate all those times, it took me nearly 9 months to understand the complexity of the web 3 space. But the the newbies initiative came and I learned, today I can say I'm in a much better place because I've made friends and built relationships that has helped me thus far

It could’ve been so easy to be bitter, but instead you chose gratitude and growth. That’s strength. And the fact that you took time off to actually learn and come back stronger? That’s real commitment, not many people would do that. Respect, bro. This journey isn’t easy but reading stories like yours reminds us that it's absolutely worth it.

so when you calculate all those times, it took me nearly 9 months to understand the complexity of the web 3 space

Mastery always demands patience in an instant-gratification world.

I wasn't angry at all, but grateful that she thought it wise to teach me how to fish instead of just giving me the fish.

Life’s greatest gifts often come disguised as struggles. Self-discovery always requires persistence and good connections with people. Human connections are as vital as technical skills in navigating Web3’s complexity.

Thank you.
