The Beauty of Science \\ Shaping the world we enjoy today //
When I recall past events that happened years ago with the death of a friend lost in the battle to Sickle Cell Anemia (SS), I can't help but appreciate where we are today in technology. The knowledge we have today about health, medication, and even sustainable energy that is the talk of town today all springs forth from science.
Science is so broad that it touches on various areas from agriculture to power, energies, technology, and health care.
Sometimes, I try to take myself back in thought to the past when our forefathers lived without proper medical care and, most importantly, means of communication.
Today, we enjoy swift communication even with people who are continents away, we can even assess video calls to any part of the world and feel like the person we are talking to is just beside us.
Businesses now can be done from anywhere in the world with just our phone or laptop. We can create friendship with the online world just through communication on social media. This is the power of science, and it has led to great advancements in the different facets of life.
The aspect of science I also appreciate is the discovery of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). A lot of women battle with various unexplained fertility issues, this has resulted in marital problems due to childlessness. Science has helped reduce the problem through the invention of IVF. Although it is a costly procedure, couples with fertility issues can choose to have their babies using this method and plan for it by saving ahead for the procedure. The beautiful aspect of this procedure is that the couple get to choose the sex of the child and the number of babies if they want.

Science has also made life easy since the invention of washing machines. We all know how stressful it can be to start washing a pile of clothes after a stressful week. Now one can easily multitask with the use of a washing machine, washing, cooking and cleaning all at the same time within a space of time, it is amazing and science is indeed a gift to us all.
I hope for more discoveries and advancements of the globe in general, a time when a permanent cure for cancers and HIV will be discovered, and death rates will be reduced to this terrible disease and viruses.
