Pollution is the activities carried out either directly or indirectly, which is harmful to humans, plants, and animals. Pollution is dangerous as it can affect our health adversely, leading to diseases such as lung disease, cardiovascular issues, and other health problems, which can be life-threatening.
Living in Lagos almost all my life, I've experienced firsthand what it means for an environment to be polluted. I have seen situations where people bring out their trash to throw into the flood during a heavy down pour, thereby causing blockage and more flood which ends up in people's homes.
It is also common to see refuse dumped in almost every corner of the roads in Lagos. Some consist of decayed particles, which makes it difficult to breathe. I experience this mostly when I have to go through a market route to work. Sometimes, I have no choice but to hold my breath just to avoid breathing in the terrible smell into my system. These are just a few of the cases of pollution witnessed.
EFFECTS OF POLLUTION
Pollution has a detrimental effect on our health regardless of its form. Air pollution has been linked to many respiratory issues such as asthma, lung disease, and other diseases, which are life threatening.
Pollution has also caused water-borne diseases from drinking water from contaminated sources leading to diarrhea, which has led to the death of many people, especially in infacts.
For me, I think the worst kind of pollution is Water Pollution. This is because we need water to survive, to cook, to drink, to bathe, to wash and even to clean. Water is important in our daily lives, and so is the need for clean water to have a healthier life.
Water pollution is majorly from leaked sewages and dumping of refuse into large bodies of water which at the end of the day finds it way back to us and we end up drinking same water. Even most so-called satchet and bottled water aren't safe for consumption when properly checked.
Another one is Air Pollution. We all need air to survive, but clean air is what we need, not polluted air that would cause health problems for us. Mostly, Air Pollution is caused by the release of exhaust fumes from vehicles and from large producing factories.
SOLUTION
●Pollution is not something that can be eradicated overnight. I believe everyone has a role to play, and also, we shouldn't hesitate to correct others who pollute the environment. The truth is that most people are ignorant of the adverse effects pollution has not just on the environment at large but also on the person causing the pollution.
●We can also report any case of sewage leakege to the government to address.
●Factories should also be located in city outskirts, far from where people live.
●When we apply all these, we will breathe in cleaner air and have clean water for all our daily activities.

The government and we as individuals need to put in a good Enough in control or eradicating the rate at which pollution occur...
Yes, and if possible, there should be penalties for those who deliberately pollute the environment.
Pollution is activity done by human either directly or indirectly which has an effect that could be destructive if not managed properly.
