Depression Isn't A Joke, Let's Face The Truth.

Good day to every lovely soul out there reading this right now, I welcome you to SciFi Multiverse Prompt Week 59 Edition 2 and for this edition we would be focusing on "why society needs to talk about depression more" so I invite you to join us on today's discussion.

I know of a woman who got married to a very wealthy man and she was the talk of the town, every other lady wanted to be like her while some even envied her, she lived a soft life where she was a full time house wife with maids in the house doing all the chores while she just sat there directing them, she wore the best designer clothes, went for shopping at will like I mean she was living the dream so she became the standard that everyone would set if they want to make it in life.

She had friends who was at her beck and call because she could offer one or two to them or because they took her superior, her marriage was the perfect kind of marriage but you wouldn't know until you are told that she had to patch alot for the world not to see, from the first day of her marriage she has been beaten severally till the five years of it, she gave her husband a very intelligent boy who is five years but he still looked for other reasons to maltreat the woman, she so much feared her husband that she doesn't want to go against any of his bindings, she would patch up those buries behind heavy makeups, expensive dresses and a big smile while they don't know that she's dying within, if only she knew that there's more to life than what she's holding onto.

Why many people feel afraid to talk about depression in society is for the factor that people wouldn't see you as that perfect person again, of being misjudged, of not being understood, of leaving the benefits that comes with depression like what you stand to gain and lots more. Open conversations on depression can really help reduce stigma because sometimes just talking about those burdens alone feels like they have been lightened, just imagine if the woman have opened up early about the depression she has been facing only then would she have gotten help from NGOs, from higher authorities and she might be assured security, she might have been educated that she is not the problem in the marriage to warrant the maltreat and that she's enough.

I feel like talking about things that burdens us Instead of locking up sometimes is a big therapy to us but the problem is who and who is the right audience to open up to because these days a problem shared is a topic of gossip, I leave you with this to deliberate on, have a lovely weekend guys.

I see no reason to hide depression because that's the only way you can get help.
