Time

Two facts I know about time is that; It heals and waits for no one. Over time, what humans have not managed effectively is time, especially in prioritizing what to do and not to do at the right moment. Among my other weaknesses, procrastination is one I've not been able to deal with. It starts with, I will do it later, I still have time, I'll do it after I have taken a little nap, all this accumulate to steal the right moment for everything.

There's a saying that goes "A stitch in time saves nine". I never really understood this saying until I missed a job opportunity. A friend had sent me a recruitment link for the Job opportunity I have been looking for, unknown to me the recruitment was scheduled for 7 days. She had sent the link the day the recruitment started and I never opened the link. I kept telling myself "I'll do it tomorrow, I'll be more ready tomorrow, It wouldn't take me time to apply for it" only to realize the registration window closed a day before I finally decided to click on the link to apply. I felt hurt, and that was because it was the Job I had always been looking for. The pain grew worse when someone who intended to help me get employment called me and asked if I applied for the job.

Procrastination is an enemy to success, it gives you the illusive idea of enough time while the grain in the Time hourglass empty itself. It requires discipline to truly hold the value of each time. Procrastination is a stealer, but her voice is so silk and soft, if one is not sensitive, one falls prey to her charms, and in the end, he is robbed of his dreams.

But then why do it later when you can do it now? Why read that book later when you can read it now? Why apply for that job later when you can apply for it now? Why finish up later when you can do it now?. Asking yourself these questions sometimes can help you deal with procrastination. Time is not our friend and it waits for no one. Setting up a daily to-do list coupled with discipline can help combat procrastination, but procrastination is truly overcome when we understand the value of time. People who have been able to understand the value of time have grown beyond the charms and luxury of comfort. Overcoming procrastination starts with the question "Why do it later, when I can do it now?" and grows roots when we hold value to every second, minute, and hour.

Procrastination is an enemy to success. Yes it is,I have also missed a job opportunity due to procrastination and nonchalant attitude.

Once you start telling yourself you will do it tomorrow or later, then you are giving procrastination room and the more you do it is the more room it has or gets.
