“Time waits for no one”, it's said. If time only doesn't wait, and perhaps decides to walk to see if one could catch up, it rather seems to move at a speed you can hardly catch up with. Such is the major perception about time. As I converse with people, I get to understand that this is one of the greatest, daily and frustrating perils of humanity. It always seems time is on the run, and we aren't catching up with it.
There's this saying about time, which shows the weight of this matter, and it goes like, “Don't watch the clock do what it's meant to do, you keep moving.” Something like that, and I guess the indications of the statement are clear to anyone. Why “watch” time move when you can be moving and doing your thing too?
When we talk about time, there's always a big conversation around it. As much as we desire to be successful in life, time is that currency we desperately need. So, you see a person who has learnt to use their time well achieving feats that seem overwhelming. One thing needed to achieve such a reality isn't just having the time; what makes the possibility is the discipline to use our time well.
I guess the conversation should be about how much one can be disciplined to achieve their desires with time, and not the fact that time runs. Well, it likely does some days. I wouldn't label myself as one who has achieved the total discipline of time. Especially being a digital person, who has a lot to do with the online world. You know the distractions that could set in when you switch on that data and the notifications begin to drop.
Sometimes, it's just a swipe and “check” that hopefully should last not up to two minutes, but later becomes several minutes. There's a whole lot of distraction in there, and through life in general that could keep one from being focused and disciplined with time. A disorientation to my time affects my plans and affects me in a way. Amidst that then, I've learnt to draw some lines and get the best of time in some ways.
The scrolling from one reel to another hasn't been my thing. I try to stay less on media spaces that are predominantly reels-connected. Except when necessary, and even then, I try to make it about things that edify me. Of course, one can hardly pass by just like that. There are times when all it took was one scroll and then several scrolls later. These things happen most times when there are other things to attend to, and so procrastination sets in.
Honestly, I dislike procrastination, for the mere fact that I know I'll still come back to do the task or duty. I was always implored while growing up to avoid it. However, I find myself caught up in it sometimes, all for some reason like, to just rest a little, or just do this other thing or just go to this place.
Most times then, one feels that time-the twenty-four hours-isn't just enough. I think the problem is the discipline not the time duration one could get. This is because even if twelve more hours get added to a day, it could only just give rise to more time to waste for the one who hasn't learnt to use it well or wisely. One of the best and satisfying skills a person can have today is that of time management.
Images are mine.
I also don't watch reels and if start to watch i easily get bored from it. I agree with you that we should need to learn about time management
Yes, and except what will edify or just something else interesting. But not something to just waste time on. True, we need to learn that time management thing.
I feel that problem too, it is challenging when we have only 24h a day hehe! There are some apps that help with time management have you tried?
True right? Wow, I haven't tried that yet. Which ones do you use?
I used clockify you can try it for free

Time is of the greatest value because time wasted cannot be recovered and also there is a saying "time is money". Mismanagement of how we use our time is always what lead to us feeling like it's not enough. Thank you for sharing @daverick
Yes, that's true. Time is of essence and we ought to use it as such.
I am a procrastinator but I get to find out that 24 hours is enough for us to achieve whatever we want with proper time management we can achieve it.
True. Time will only be valuable and sufficient when we know how to manage and use it well. Not when it gets added.
