Would you also believe that Brazil is known as the world's largest producer of sugarcane?
In shock 😲 but Yes, it's πŸ’―% true! Brazil do produces so much sugarcane that in the year 2023, they made all about 40% of all the world's sugarcane. That's more like filling up 7,200 Olympic-sized swimming pools with the sugar! The Brazilian farmers have all been growing sugarcane for over 500 years now. Their warm climate and their rich soil makes it so perfect for growing these tall, sweet stalks. From this very sugarcane, they make out sugar for our cookies and the cakes, and even the clean fuel for cars called the ethanol. "How cool is that! Steemians"

When we do think of sushi, we focus immediately to thinking πŸ€” of Japan! This amazing kind of dish has a history going back more than 1,300 years.

  • Originally, the sushi wasn't exactly just like what we eat today - it all started as a way to help preserve fish in rice that had already been fermented. Then the modern sushi we all love today was invented in during the 1800s in Tokyo (then called Edo) as a very quick street food! The Japanese sushi chefs train for many years just to become masters at their own craft. They did learn everything from how to perfectly cook the rice to how to slice fish with good precision.

Did you all know that in Japan, it's much polite to eat sushi in one bite? And then the green paste served with it called the wasabi which is actually meant to kill the bacteria and make the fish taste even more better!
