When First Impression Overwrites Real Act

Before people would actually come out with the saying that first impression matters, we should have known that there would have been so many underground or undercover analysis and comparison before they could arrive on the conclusion that it does matter.

When you get to a new environment, be it in a social gathering, a business setting, a new workplace, or anywhere involving other parties and not you alone, it is advised that you show good act as first impression because no matter what, that will speak for you in further relationships with those people.

However, at times these first impressions are kind of misleading in the sense that I can easily pretend to be good on a first day of our meeting just to give that first lasting impression that stays with you in your head about me and whereas there's someone who doesn't really care but deep down he or she is a total opposite of the bad impression they gave on the first meeting and until you are closer to them before you realize that.

In one of my previous workplace, I had these two colleagues who are ladies of which one is a vibrant lady who works so well and diligently, leaving no stone unturned when it has to do with her assigned roles or ensuring that the goals of the organization is achieved while the other lady do not care either organization would run smoothly or not with her carefree act in her task. She even go as far as forging data instead of making real efforts to get data for surveys.
I got to know their differences in their work lives because I got to work closely with them and I had countless fights with the 2nd lady just to ensure that she does the right thing and there was a time she gave me a response of "you're carrying another person's work on head like yours". This is to show how bad she is and wouldn't care if things get destroyed.

Unfortunately, to the CEO who isn't always available physically to witness their true natures except for what he has seen on the first day of resumption of these two ladies, he would always count the first diligent lady as a lazy employee who isn't ready to work but always waiting for salary while the 2nd lady is seen as the vibrant and hardworking staff.

You know, when you work so hard and you're being looked at as a lazy person who isn't working or doing anything useful for the organization, it's so painful right and until I knew what happened on the first day of their resumption, I would always complain bitterly like what kind of a switch in judgment is this?

On their first day of resuming to work after being employed, the diligent lady in her mind, was waiting for the admin to get started for her work and all that so while waiting, she was pressing her phone. On the other hand, the lazy eye service lady stood up and started going here and there, asking for what to do, either to help out or something which is fine if you're not the type that would just sit and do nothing but it only lasted for that day that the CEO was around. Every other day, her attitude kept deteriorating and kept affecting whichever team she joined.

Probably the diligent lady won't have been in that situation if she had also given a good impression on her first day of resumption instead of acting cool and calm which made her look lazy to the employer.

So I guess that's how life is. People tends to remember the negative part of us than the positive impacts we've laid down before.
