When Desire turned Disastrous

As humans, we have the ability to desire and our desires are not limited to a particular aspect of life. We desire for wealth, good health, long life, riches, promotion as an employee, expansion as business person to turn a tycoon, having a great and happy family people get proud of, getting married to the best and kind-hearted partner in the world, having the best kids, succeeding where our past or predecessors have failed and so on.

Talking about human desires shouldn't linger around financial aspects alone though we know that for every complete happy life out there, lies a touch of money that makes everything easy. Just like someone said to me last two nights ago that what is a marriage without a touch of money? That as a man, you turn out to be disrespected and as the wife, you turn out to be a nagging and disrespectful wife (though that's a talk for another day as I couldn't agree totally with her even if there's a partial truth about spicing up relationships with the availability of money)

There are times we lose ourselves in the so-called desire for some things that isn't even about money and you would actually look at it that isn't this turning out to become abnormality
There are some of our emotional desires that ends up turning unhealthy and before we know it, it has turned to become a lust for us.

Speaking about that, I know of someone who was so gentle at heart and meek in spirit. He hardly speaks and you would barely see him commit error in communicating with people because he speaks less. While this may sound as a good attribute, at the same time it affected the way he was interacting with people most especially on how to ask a lady out.

Later on, he started seeing this as an issue and would always seek help from a few of us who are very close to him and we started our therapy on him which gradually caused his growth in interacting with people and from there he could finally ask a lady he likes out.... IF ONLY WE KNEW! WE WOULD HAVE LEFT HIM IN HIS SHELL

His growth went rampant and so wide that we teachers started complaining about a once meek student to take things easy until the day he had an encounter with his Waterloo or how do they call it......

So it is normal that we have some desires, either they make sense to people or not but the point where it makes sense no more is when our desires start to become what hurts our lives or the people around us.
When our desires to get richer is at the detriment of some people's happiness and lives.
When our desires to get that handsome guy or lady to be ours is at the doom of someone's happy union....

Healthy desires should bring growth and not grooming disaster.
