[Movie] What Do You Believe?: "God's Not Dead" Review

I can't remember the last time I saw a movie and it challenged me to do something very practical immediately, this is that movie after a long while. I finished this movie and I couldn't stop feeling happy, grateful and singing over and over. There are like a lot of reasons why that is and I am very excited to be sharing the review of it right now.

First of all, the reviews and ratings on moviebox about the movie was nothing like what I experienced seeing the movie itself. I think those who gave the ratings were biased about something or maybe just didn't get the point or lessons the movie tried to interpret to its viewers.

"God's Not Dead" is a 1hr 53 mins movie released in the year 2014, it has four sequels and I plan to see everyone of them, I have them downloaded already. That's by the way, let's focus on this this story first. The movie is based on a faith, philosophy and drama. It combines genres so well in a way I never thought I needed to see.

The story introduces Josh Wheaton (starred by Shane Harper), a new student in the university and in a philosophy class where the professor (starred by Kevin Sorbo) curriculum starts with every student in his class agreeing with him that "God Is Dead". He ask them to write it on a piece of paper to submit as part of assessment, Josh believes differently and refuses to write it. His refusal led to a challenge that he has to convince everyone in the class that God is not dead in three trials, his faith is tested by the challenge.

On another side of the world or the story, is Amy (starred by Trisha LaFache) who is a journalist and way too interested in popular gospel celebrities, wondering why they bore their channels and opportunities with preachings of Christ. She has a fiance who fuels her actions in the course but he soon leaves her when he learns that she is dying of cancer. Before then, she meets Willie Robertson and wife for an interview.

Another character who played a similar role to most characters in the story worthy of note is, Martin Yip (starred by Paul Kwo), he is one of the students in the class where Josh tries to convince them that God is not dead. He is Chinese and knew nothing about God but from the challenge and seeing how Josh took up the challenge in a class no one else could, he came to believe in God, the first to say God's Not Dead.

Other characters like Ayisha (starred by Hadeel Sittu), Reverend Dave (starred by David A.R. White) and Reverend Jude (starred by Benjamin A. Onyango) had their own story going on for them, especially with how they come together at the end of the story to make it very remarkable.

As Josh finally convinces his professor and the students in the class, they all stand up to say the word "God's Not Dead" and somewhere later, a gospel music band after a brief and transforming time with Amy who now believes in God, sings a song titled "God's Not Dead" and it turned out to be a song I am familiar with, I think it made the end of the movie more emotional for me. It's a movie proving God is alive and I recommend it.
