[Movie] Movie Review: My Take On "Owmabe Thieves."

Owambe thieves. This is one of the movies I can very well recommend for anyone looking to see an interesting movie. One that will keep you glued to the very end. As the title implies, you can tell they're not your regular kind of thieves; also, they didn't start out to be thieves; conditions actually turned them into thieves.

Now, let's dive in. This story is about a couple who're actually struggling financially. Along the line, they became desperate and just needed to survive after having gone through different things. They only thought about stealing once, which went well, but at the end of the day, it began to become a norm to them... Like, they kept it up. Stealing from one party to another.

I need to add one of the reasons why you need to watch this. First off, the actors who acted in this movie are not any kind of ones. The likes of Sola Shobowale, Odunlade Adekola, Eniola Ajao, and Zubby Michael, to mention but a few. You can tell what the movie would be like. Yeah, so it happened that Zubby and Eniola are the couple in this movie; the husband lost his job, and various things began to happen. They also had to leave their house since it was getting difficult and ended up at a friend's place. Well, this friend gave them an apartment to stay in, for which they are grateful, but this friend... That's Odunlade; he had another in mind; he's been eyeing the wife of his friend. Just so you know, he didn't have his way.

Back to the interesting part, Eniola's younger sister is about to get married to a very rich man, a politician. They went there to help with preparation and all of that. On the day of the wedding, they planned to make go with some cash. It wasn't that easy, but they succeeded with it. That was the beginning of their theft business. I forgot to add that they had a child too. And I very well understand why they're tempted to steal. They're broke; they have a family; they needed money, and many more. And I didn't even blame them that much, especially since they stole from their own family, so it's okay. But then, it even got more interesting.

That money they stole was a lot, and with it they were able to get a big apartment for themselves and also live comfortably. But then, it seems to have dawned on them that it is a huge business to venture into. It seems that money has changed them, especially Zubby; he stopped acting his usual calm way and brought out his actual self, Zubby sef. They became greedy and seemed it best to continue doing wrong and stealing at parties since the first had worked.

This movie is a must-watch. You don't want to miss all that it entails. Funny moments, struggle moments, interesting moments, and even confusing ones. Now, before I conclude, I would like to add that this is one of the few movies where the ending is more gripping and stronger than its beginning. Not as if I'm saying the movie has no offs; of course it does. There are places where Eniola didn't give or show as many emotions as she should have, and Zubby did too; they fell short in some scenes too.

In conclusion, I'm of the opinion that this movie will definitely have a second part. Yeah, because where the first ended can't be the ending.

Owambe thieves. It is worth watching.

Smiles, no problem. I'm not a fan of naija movies too. Except for the likes of Funke and maybe some of Bimbo movies.

I'm into k-drama, but this one was actually hyped and my friend insisted I watched it, and honestly... They did well šŸ‘

Let's wait for the second part 🤪
