[TV] Movie Review: I Dol l

I just finished watching this movie this morning, and I couldn't even wait it out. My hand was just itching me to drop a review of it. It is a Korean movie, and it is one that really got me glued to it until the end. It is titled "Idol." The story followed actually followed Maeng Se-na, who's a successful lawyer always defending and winning cases, and the other person was Do Ra-ik, he's a very popular and successful musician. Now, Maeng Se-na happens to be a very good fan of Do Ra-ik.

Do Ra-ik definitely not know about it at first that Maeng Se-na had been a long-time fan of hers? One thing led to the other, and Do Ra-ik got accused of murder. And Maeng Se-na, who happens to be a lawyer, stepped out to take the case when every other lawyer wouldn't since all evidence was pointing towards Do Ra-ik. For this movie, I would say both of them are the main cast, yeah. Maeng Se-na, like I said earlier, was very good and successful with all her cases. So, when she decided to take up the case, she had to find a way to balance things. Not as a fangirl but as the lawyer that she is.

Do Ra-ik, on his part, did look to be the proud type at first, like a very cold person. Even her facial expressions always show that. But the more I watched, the more I realized why he was like that. And to be honest, I so much love and enjoy his character. But then, the movie got interesting when the murder issues came in. At a point everyone seems suspicious. Actually, they happen to be a team; there were four, and all signed to a record label. So, one thing led to the other, and they began to have misunderstandings. That was how one of them died in Do Ra-ik's house one day, and because he was home with Do Ra-ik that night, everyone believed Do Ra-ik must have killed him.

I love the movie, especially for the suspense it brought with it. After watching to a point, I thought I had figured out who the real culprit was, only for it to turn towards another person and another person again. It's not the regular kind of movie you can guess; the only thing you would probably be able to guess right in it is that Do Ra-ik and Maeng Se-na would fall in love and have something going on. Well, I knew that would happen too.

The movie is definitely a mix of romance, justice, mystery, and so much more. Also, one of the reasons why Maeng Se-na actually took the case up, aside from the fact that she liked Do Ra-ik as a fan, was that his down father also got accused of something of the sort years back, and he was found guilty, which she knew he wasn't. So, after taking up Do Ra-ik's case, she was able to scale through even though it was hard. She immediately set out to prove the innocence of her father too after about 15 years. Her father was dead though but still she just wanted to clear his name so she requested for a retrial.

Like I said earlier, the movie was filled with suspense. When I felt I had known the real killer, another piece of information or piece of evidence would come out again, pointing at a different person. And when the killer finally got exposed, a lot of things began to flood back into my memory, and it began to make very good sense from the beginning again.

After that the whole case was solved and everything died down. I loved that they all still stick together and didn't end their music career. They returned to the stage and continued making waves, while Maeng Se-na, on her part, continued to seek justice for her late father.

I enjoyed this movie a lot. And as you all know, I won't stop doing reviews on amazing movies. You don't need to ask if you should give it a watch, nah. You really should. It is a great movie, and I'm sure it will keep you glued to the very end.
