RE: Sam’s Hangout #122 - “LOVE & FAMILY”

If your partner's family genuinely dislikes you or consistently treats you with hostility, would you still go ahead with the marriage, or would you reconsider the relationship?
What factors would influence your decision?

I will definitely reconsider the marriage decision, no matter how much I love or care about that partner, if their family genuinely dislikes me, treats me in hostility or shows a sign of hatred towards me, that's a serious red flag.
The truth people seem to ignore is that marriage isn't just a union that involves two people; both extended families often play important roles, in times of celebration, conflict, decisions, and even raising children. You might think the extended family aren't close, but they are closer than you think.

The fact is that constant hostility from your partner's family will create unnecessary stress and tension. Every moment of gathering will inconvenience me, because their hatred will make it miserable for me. At every point they can influence your husband against you.

However, my final decision would only be influenced by my partner's response and how he treats this situation.
If my partner firmly supports me when issues arises, he sets healthy boundaries for my safety, and he always refuses to tolerate disrespect from his family towards me, I will consider being with him, our relationship may still have a chance, not a high chance though, because he won't fight against his family because of me forever and I wouldn't want that. I will leave for real.
If my partner enables or ignores this mistreatment and defends it , I'm leaving without a consideration. I will walk away for my safety and future peace. I will always choose my peace, dignity, and emotional well being over marriage.
