Finding Friendship in Unexpected Places

You know how they say some of the best things in life come when you least expect them? That's exactly what happened to me in 2024. While I might not have ticked off all those New Year's resolutions (does anyone ever?)I found something even better genuine friendship in the most unexpected place, a WhatsApp group. 2024 was a year filled with so many promises I made to myself but somehow I couldn't even fulfill those promises we try again this new year.

So in 2024, I joined a WhatsApp group created by a friend of mine that I had met online in 2019, So he created the WhatsApp group where only females were allowed to join and we were about 7 females including myself and my sister.

Somehow at first I felt reluctant to chat with them on the group but this my friend , let's name him Dareem for the sake of this post , came to my dm and assured me he created the group for a purpose ,and the purpose being he wants us girls to do good for ourselves , so I took the initiative and started the conversation on the WhatsApp group, my sister joined in, there we met Blessing, Elizabeth and Love, the other people who till date I don't know their names though they left the group, it was a true connection almost immediately because we never felt like we were just knowing each other, we vibes as if we have known each other for a long time

I love blessing. I love Elizabeth and love because each of them have their own personality.

Let me tell you about these amazing women. You see, with blessing ,she is someone that likes being anonymous but because we gave her vibes that we are social people she came out of our shell and she started chatting with us like chatting with us she made it easy.

Then Elizabeth is a very very fun person. She gives funny remarks when you are chatting with her like the way she talks. The way she talks is so nice like she always makes the room lively.

Love is the inactive one in the group. She comes once in a while to chat but she's inactive but whenever the group is active she comes online and stays. then blessing and Elizabeth did become very close friends of mine that there's no day we don't talk to each other there's no day that we don't talk to each other, we always have one or two things to say to each other

I introduced them both to hive, blessing already writes here while Elizabeth is still taking her time because of her moves and all. But I'm sure soon I will see her content.

I think 2024 gave me good friends and I'm grateful for 2024 despite it being the year that I cried the most. At least I had people to talk to at that stage of my life , it was also the year that gave me these incredible friendships. During those moments when life felt overwhelming, when the tears wouldn't stop, I had these amazing women to turn to. They became my support system, my cheerleaders, my virtual shoulders to cry on.

These connections remind me that sometimes the best things in life aren't the ones that we plan for, they are the unexpected blessings that come our way when we least expect them but need them the most.
