Long live #ttt 😁🎼 and #threetunetuesday

Last night I was watching the Ballon D'Or or the Golden Ball which is like the Oscars for football.

No surprises to know that Messi won it for the eight time!

The big surprise was seeing Calm Down being performed by Nigerian Afrobeats star Rema!

I know I know I am not Nigerian, but I thought I would do this week's ttt on Rema.

And being a Nigerian music star I thought to post in Hive Naija community, mind you with my luck of late no doubt I will be muted for not being Nigerian.

Ah well fluff it, how life would be dull if you don't stick the two fingers up every so often.

Rema – Calm Down

Calm Down is the song he performed and I have to admit I have heard it a few times and I love it.

You may well have heard it too .... because it is massive!

Originally Calm Down was released in February 2022 it is the fourth track off the album Rave & Roses

It hit the heights of number 3 and spent a total of 27 weeks in the UK Singles Chart top ten.

The song is widely regarded as the biggest and most successful Afrobeats song of all time.

Baby, come gimme your lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-love
You got me like, "Whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa"

I found out alot of Nigerian girls call their blokes Baby!

And ... love how Rema described how the song came about ...

"Calm Down" is all about the events that led me to finding love at the time. It started at a party where I saw a girl who stood out from other girls so I felt like shooting my shot. We spoke and danced... but her friends didn't let me get any closer which killed the vibe, but afterwards when they weren’t there, we stayed in touch and hit it off.

Catch the full lyrics here ....

Check the bonus tune too....

Being a charming rascal of course I had to include Charm as the second tune!

Rema - Charm

It is one of his newer tunes from this year.

Rema is of course Divine Ikubor and he is from Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria.

I love how his career took off! Source

He started his music career in churches with Alpha P. In 2018. Rema posted a viral freestyle on Instagram to D'Prince's track "Gucci Gang". The post caught the attention of D'Prince who flew him to Lagos to offer a record deal to the young talent

Rema - Woman

When I see a video called Woman then of course I just have to play it.

First of all I like the tune, but then I dug in and did my research!

Well darn I am impressed.

Body dey move like a python
Love wey dey give me iron

The whole song is fantastic and those lyrics hehe I been practising my Nigerian now 🤣

So what do you think ladies @wongi @jhymi @zyzymena you like Rema or Tengo trying to sound Nigerian 🤣

I think Matilda will have to practise her moves for dey Spaces in November!

I hope that you enjoyed these Afrobeat tunes from Rema.

Which was your favourite (if any) ?

Note: The three YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.

The bonus tune I mentioned.

Calm Down from Rema had a remix with Selena Gomez and it went viral!

I wish that you all have a brilliant rest of your week, and until we meet again enjoy your tunes 🎶🎵🎶

My favorite will always be Charm but then Calm Down always gets me into a certain state of mind. You didn’t tag me 🙂

I love all three to be honest. Calm Down is a bit too commercialised but still fun. Tag @deraaa haha you know why not

Excuse me sir...I don't know!

Hi @tengolotodo, we won't kick you out of the community, partner 😉

This is so thoughtful of you. Choosing to highlight a Nigerian artiste and his songs. I love you for this.

Yes, I love Rema too. And I was able to relate to his song, Calm Down because I have friends who wouldn't let me speak freely with a guy I met at an event. But if the universe brings us back, the sparks usually fly.

Thank you for doing this and welcome to the community 🥳🥳🥳

0E-8 BEE

hehe thank you partner, well you never know someone might have muted me or something!

Well music is music I have long like West African music. If something is good then it does not matter where it is from!

0E-8 BEE

Oh I like calm down song by Rema too! It was a nice music that would make you dance with the beat

It had version with Selena Gomez too!

0E-8 BEE

Yes it is a fun and mellow song I think!

I love both Rema and Tengo trying to sound like a Nigerian🤣🤣🤣. I actually love the fact that the Nigerian music industry is gaining a lot of popularity in the western world. Over here, Rema is one of our biggest artist and I am a fan. I love calm down also. It's a song you can vibe with anytime anyday.

It's great to see you are loving Nigerian music what Nigerian thing would you love next?😜😜

0E-8 BEE

I love both Rema and Tengo trying to sound like a Nigerian🤣🤣🤣.

Well I used to try it many years ago lol.

It is cool tune and Rema has a great vibe. Music is worldwide and to me it does not matter where someone is from. If it is good then it is good. Yes I love Nigerian music and of course some of the Nigerian foods but what next I wonder...

0E-8 BEE

Hehehehehee....why do I have an uncanny feeling about what next?😀

I love Calm Down, Super Ed! When Rorro came home for a few days last June, he was listening to it all the time, hehe

I think Matilda will have to practise her moves for dey Spaces in November!

Will she learn to move her body like a python? 😉🤣🤣

0E-8 BEE

Ah yes it went viral Super Eli so am not surprised that Rorro was playing it!

Will she learn to move her body like a python? 😉🤣🤣

haha I think she will think she invented that!

0E-8 BEE

She is good, I must admit I hadn't really hear of her. You are up to date on the music scene! Great post!

This was amazing 😄. Out of the trio, I think I'd go with charm. It's more subtle and relatable. When I heard the remix for the first time, I was really impressed.

Happy new month super super star🤸

0E-8 BEE

I think Charm wins with you ladies!

Thank you and wishing you a fantastic new and happy new month Super Star 😁

Woorrtt!!!! My fluffy Teng is at it again, and just knowing Matilda has some dance steps to practice is fluffy heartwarming.

This is really beautiful, Teng. You did well with these tunes, and I am proud of ya! I have to admit I am not much of the new Nigerian music lover because damn! I prefer the old beats, but these tunes aren't too bad. Although you didn't mention me 😭. I am fine as I came in anyway.

Hello dearest fashionable dreemer. It's not just a new day. Rather, it's a new month. The 11th month of the year, which reminded us of how we started the 1st of the year. Do not let your worries be an obstacle to your smile. Let joy and happiness feel you in. I waltzed in from #dreemport, for I am an amazing #dreemer. An awesomely made #dreemerforlife.

0E-8 BEE

Thank you fluffy Balikis.
I was not sure how well you like Afrobeats so to speak. I like lots of music and it reminded me of when I worked that.
Ah yeah Matilda will be wanting you on her show at some point...

0E-8 BEE

Hehe, you are welcome, fluffy Teng. Hehe, it's alright.

Music works miracles to the heart and all, so that's that.

Hehe, I'll love to jump in at any time. Thank ya!

0E-8 BEE

Wow, this is a great and nice selection. I love the 2nd tune woman.
