As religious people, we have been taught about miracles in the holy books. I am not a Christian but I know that the bible talks about the time Jesus turned water into wine. In another scenario, Jesus used one loaf of bread to feed numerous people.
As much as the Quran doesn’t Center its teaching on miracles, we are still taught that the birth of Jesus was a miracle as we also believe that he was born without the mother (Mary) having sexual intercourse with a man.
Hmmm, this is a controversial topic in my opinion as I have a split understanding of this topic as I write more about it. When I was very little I used to believe in miracles because back then I used to watch a lot of Christian channels. The thing is, because of the way things were portrayed in television I used to think healing was as easy as it was depicted in television.
Now that I am older I don’t believe in all that anymore. Is it that I don’t believe in healing? Not that, I just think that a lot of the things we see on television are full of lies. The thing about technology which a lot of people don’t seem to get is that it is not like the technology of the past. Technology is way advanced now even back then it was way advanced and they could do a lot of things with it. The difference in my opinion is that people have just begun to pay more attention to a lot of things that they didn’t care about.
Now back to the question. Do I believe in miracles? Well, I’d say it’s 50/50. The thing about me is that I do believe in God and then I believe in destiny as well. Now if you are someone who believes in destiny how can you believe in miracles as well? I make this comparison because what destiny seeks to tell us is that it is possible. But with miracles, it has to do with someone we thought couldn’t happen but then it suddenly happened.
Like with the situation of Jesus turning water into wine; it is something which was never heard of and has not been heard of up until now. Now that is a miracle cause it’s a rare situation. Now imagine a poor man of yesterday suddenly makes money tomorrow and then someone will say it’s a miracle. There are a lot of ways one can make money and make a lot of it overnight as well.
There is no rule as to how much someone can make overnight.
Now I know I said it was 50/50 but then as I answer I am swaying towards an 80/20 in favour of believing in miracles a lot. The one thing that I believe in is luck. I think luck plays a big role in things that we do. We do things and don’t know if they will work out or not but due to luck we can be on the winning side of things.
In my language we refer to luck as being blessed by God or should I say God intervened on your behalf. So that should give you your answer when I say I believe in God but don’t have a lot of belief in miracles.
Do you believe in miracles? Has this belief had a lot of impact on your life? Or you’re just like me who thinks it has very little impact on our lives.

Well I would say that a lot of things have come up now where fake miracles by fake men of God are portrayed. But that doesn't stop me from believing that actual miracles exist because I've seen it come to play in my life severally.
The thing about miracles is the inexplicable form of it. You're not supposed to understand or explain it. And so a poor guy becoming rich can't be called a miracle. Lol
Lol, unfortunately a poor guy becoming rich overnight is considered a miracle to some people.
Well, I do believe that miracles happen but not the way it is portrayed. I believe miracles are really really rare scenarios which play out in our lives.
this has and always will be a controversial topic. If you ask me, I’d tell you that luck is bull. There are so many (miraculous) things that has happened outside of technology that has absolutely nothing to do with luck. But I do get your point. Once you sway away from what is divinely original, anything is possible (and acceptable). That’s the world today.
Of course we've had a lot of fake miracles being portrayed nowadays but then it doesn't invalidate that true miracles happen. Same way I won't say I don't believe there is original currency because there are a lot of fakes or you don't believe there are human beings because of the advent of robots. There was an original before the fake.
Miracle is God's intervention that changes the course of an event or situation.
When we talk about miracles, we can't remove God from the picture. So believing in God but not believing in miracles like that is indirectly saying I don't believe in God.
Now, because we believe and understand that God is good, we can expect miracles from him. The turning of water to wine was also expected although not from the wedding organisers. Jesus' mother who knew him made that demand from him.
I'm a product of miracles. So I believe in miracles everyday no matter the number of fakes out there and it has a lot of impact on my life. In fact I'm always expectant of it.
Ohh... I've typed so much.

Mainstream media has a way of portraying things that we may have thought to be true when we were kids. Of course, we learn better as we grow up :)
I like how you explained your thoughts on miracles. I think whether or not we believe miracles exist depends on how we define the word or our personal experiences.
