Huhm, this is a deep one.
And I really can't wait to read from you all, meanwhile here's my own 2 cent. Abi na 50cent 😜😁...
I feel in cases like that, what should come first and should be considered is the child's/children emotional safety. It shouldn't ever be about who wins and the likes, it should be about who's always present, who attends little things such as PTA meetings, who knows the child more and understand his/her routines. And all this is something the court itself can work on, they can speak to the child/children if he/she is old enough, they can invite his/her class teacher over and ask them some questions, they can as well ask neighbours about stuff and get to know how each parents react, attend, care, and behaves with the child. The child needs comes first, and this needs goes beyond luxuries. Talk of where he/she feels safe more and the likes...
Also, if the child is still very little, I would suggest it's best to remain with the mother, but then again...it depends. We've heard stories and seen a whole lot of things.
In short, whatever decision that will be made must be one that protects the child's/children mental health and show them they are genuinely loved.
